As I've been collecting information and points of contact with other owner's of these Daytona Pace/Lap cars, I've started a list of verified vins of a few of these cars. If you or someone you know own's one of these vehicles PLEASE have them contact me so that I can add their car to the list. This will provide a single point of information for current and future owners trying to identify their car. At this point I'm having a webpage designed for a registry , but until then please contact me through here.

Currently I'm documenting as much of the car being involved with the 2002 Daytona 500 as I can. I'm racking up my cell phone minutes calling Florida all the time.

I'm also attempting to find out my ASC Coversion Number (Build number) on what my number is in relation to other Collector Edition Trans Am's out there-2361 made. 2000 to the US, 360 to Canada, 1 destroyed at the factory.

My car is the #12 Parade Vehicle, given that number by the powers that be at the Daytona 500. Why 12 I don't know because Johnny Benson was racing under the number 10.

According to the Dealership that supplied the cars to Nascar, 1 was the Jay Leno Pace Car that everyone knows about, 2 were back up Pace Cars, and 43 were Parade Vehicles (1 for each Nascar driver for the "Driver Introduction" before the start of the race.

Talk at'cha later, Charlie
