Good God - it took someone calling to buy my old Impala (that sold 6 years ago) to get back on this page and do some updating. The Camaro hasn't changed one bit - but everything else has undergone massive transformations. Will be posting updated pics very shortly. Good to be back - and I promise - no more 4 year hiatuses!!!
Jeez Louise! It's been nearly 4 years since I've been on this site. Shame on me! Guess I've been too busy in the garage and elsewhere to get back on. Welp - the Impala is SOLD. I broke dead even on the car (not counting my labor though) - so no cash loss is a good thing. She went to a good home up in North Ga. and has a few Chevy stable mates. Sooooo - with the cash from the Impala, we dive straight in to the racecar (240Z). Oh - and I bought yet another Zedd for the wife. It's a total basket case...one thing at a time! Also posting some of the other vehicles lying around the house....why not!
Got this car pretty much the way it sits now back in Jan. 2005. Bought it as an investment - look at what Barrett Jackson has done to the price of these cars!! I have replaced the original gauges with AutoMeter gauges and a few dress up components on the motor. Otherwise, I just drive it!
Well - it's time. The car hasn't been started in a couple years. Compression test showed 50-70psi in most cylinders and a big fat goose egg on cylinder #5. Found the intake valve stuck wide open...and frozen there. Pulled motor. Tore down. Crank looks decent, #7 and #5 piston rings siezed to the pistons. Nasty mess. Took everything to Ewing Machine Service in Snellville, Ga. and the motor is being gone through currently. New pistons, wrist pins, rings, cam, lifters, timing components, oil pump, gaskets, lifters, springs, retainers - ALL new. Should be getting motor back on the stand to assemble in a few days.
