What are your thoughts????

By 71_Charger

I think that when Chrysler brought the Charger back out it should have looked like this one below!!!!
What do you all think??

By 71_Charger

Had me a really good laugh this morning!!

Since I had been away from Motortopia for a while, I thought I'd do a little search, so I typed in "American Muscle Car".
The results came up and I damn near fell out of my chair laughing.

Here are some of the results / cars that came up
79 Datsun (LOL not on your best day)
93 Mazda (Don't Think So)
02 Porsche (Never seen an American made Porsche)
62 VW (Didn't know Germany was part of America)
78 MG (You Wish)

Listen folks, if you have to use a metric wrench to work on your ride, it ain't an American Muscle Car!!
Maybe when you posted the pictures of your ride, you were wishing that you had an American Muscle Car.

Read on people.........Here's your Muscle Car History Lesson for today!!

From Wikipedia
Muscle car is a term used to refer to a variety of high performance automobiles. At its most widely accepted the term refers to American 2-door rear wheel drive mid-size cars of the late 1960s and early 1970s equipped with large, powerful V8s and sold at an affordable price for street use and drag racing, formally and informally.

NOW, all you dreamers..........ya better go study and get things straightened up..........There will be a test on Friday!!

The HEMI Prayer

By 71_Charger

The HEMI is my shepherd.

I shall not want.

It maketh me burnout on black pavements;

It leadeth me beside busy freeways;

It restoreth my soul

It leads me in the path of quickness for its name sake.

Yea though I walk through the valley of rice, I shall fear no turbo for torque art with me.

Thy rod and thy piston they comfort me.

Thou preparest a track before me. In the presence of mine enemies thou hast anointed my bearings with oil.

My HEMI over powers.

Surely traction and speed shall follow me all the days of my life

and I shall dwell in the house of Mopar forever.

How I See It........My 2 Cents Worth

By 71_Charger

Please keep in mind, this is my opinion only.
I do not speak for anyone else. If you agree with me, Fine, if you disagree with me, that's fine too, this is just my 2 cents worth.

I hear people every day, whining and crying about the price they have to pay to enjoy their cars. Most of the people that I know are into "Muscle Cars", yet I hear others complaining about the same thing, "The Price Of Gas".
Well Here's What I Think......

Yes the price that we are paying for gas is outrageous, infact, it is at an all time high in the US. Oil has topped $100 a barrel, which trickles down to the consumer. We are currently paying anywhere from $3.00 to $4.00 a gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.

STOP WHINING!!!!!!!!!!

This is what you chose!!

I am no economic genius, but haven't you been paying attention?
All my life, oil based products, not just gasoline, has been on a constant and steady uphill climb. Price and demand. And personally, I don't see it EVER going down, price or demand. So, what is it I'm trying to say here?

I chose to own a Muscle Car, I made the decision early on, that I wanted to have a hobby that was going to cost me money every time I wanted to participate.
As the old saying goes....."You Got To Pay To Play The Game"

I have talked to people that have put "MEGA BUCKS" into their cars, and now are refusing to take their car to a car show or cruise because "The Price Of Gas Is Too High".
BULL!!!!!!! I say, You Got To Pay To Play The Game.
You have to go to the shows and cruises, they are not going to come to you.

What good is that Classic Muscle Car, or any customized or modified car gonna be sitting in the garage? You were willing to spend all that money for a car, but now you're not willing to send a lil more to cruise, or show it off. Then I say, sell it! Cut your losses and get rid of it.
You Got To Pay To Play The Game.
If you think it's too expensive to do it today, surprize,
it isn't gonna be any cheaper to do it tomorrow.

Ok, I'll get off my soapbox now.

Just my 2 cents worth.

About The "Large Charge"

By 71_Charger

I first saw this car about 5 years ago. Of course being a Mopar man, I had to inquire about it. The guy that owned it said that it was not for sale. "I'm gonna fix it up some day".
Well, that wasn't the answer I wanted to hear!

It sat in the back yard of the house directly behind mine for a couple of years, grass & weeds growing up around it. I talked to the guy about it several times, but being nice, I never got too pushy.

One day I was out just walkin around in the back yard, drinkin a beer, mindin my own busness, when he came across the alley to my back fence. I went over and started talking to him, when behold, he asked the magic question! "Are you still interested in buying my Charger?" I'm getting a divorce and I don't want my wife to get it, she hates that car.
I couldn't say YES fast enough. Well, we made the deal, and what a deal it was. After I paid him for the car, he said that it didn't run anymore, and that he didn't know what was wrong with it. I told him that I didn't care.

Well me and my brother-in-law went over, trampled down the 5 ft weeds that had grown up around it, and pulled it across the alley to my yard. I went out about a week later to check it out and see why it wouldn't run. Ah, there's the problem!!
I went to Wal Mart and got a new battery, then stopped by the local Bumper To Bumper and picked up a new fuel pump and fuel line, spark plugs, and plug wires, then headed for the house.

After about an hour of working on the car, changing the fuel pump and tuning it up, I climbed inside. I inserted the key into the ignition, I have buzzing and a dome light, THIS IS GOOD! With my right foot, I vigorously pumped the accelerator, I crossed my fingers and turned the key. The engine turned over about four times, then fired up like it had only been setting overnight! DAMN, I WAS A HAPPY MAN!

Since that day I have been driving it on a regular basis, As Much As Possible!

And that is the story on how the "Large Charge" came to be.
