About me and my passion for cars
My passion for cars (GM for the most part) started when i was about 19. I had just gotten my first car that i purchased from a local car dealer and i was rather excited about it. It wasnt much, a 95 base model Chevy Lumina with a 3100 V6, but it was mine. I wanted to do what i could to it.
After a couple years, and learning about a certain model Lumina (LTZ w/ Buick 3.8 n/a), i set out for one of those. I found one and traded my base model up for the LTZ. I had it for nearly four years, one of the best cars i ever had! Then while taking classes in college to work on cars, i bought my first Quad4 powered car. A 1988 Olds Cutlass Calais. It had a blown headgasket, so i fixed it for the school (it was donated to the school), then bought it from them for $100. Drove it for about a year till i found my new love, sitting at a junkyard here in town, just begging to be bought and fixed.
My GTZ was in sad shape the day i saw her waiting for someone to buy her. Im good friends with the guy that owns the lot, so he made me a hell of a deal. $500 and it was mine, she was still drivable. So i went to the bank, got a $500 loan, and drove her home the next day. Thats been about 4 years now, and she still lives. After an extensive motor build, a tranny overhaul, and a lot of work, i still have her.
Because of my GTZ and how much i love it, i fell in love with the Beretta line of GM cars. Since last year, i have sold my LTZ and replaced it with a 94 base Beretta with a 3100 auto (so my wife can drive it). The base has the same motor my first Lumina had and i love it!
Now, i'm more into the RWD muscle cars. Thinking that owning a rwd car was dumb for the longest time, when i bought my GTO i asked myself why i didnt buy one sooner? The power and the feel of driving a muscle car is just incredible! I think from now on, if i decide to buy another car, if its not rwd, i dont want it! lol
My first car
1988 Mazda 323 2dr hatchback. That cars only option was a tape cassette and a/c, didnt even have a 5th gear. Just the plain jane 1.5l FI with a 4spd mani-tranny.
Car I wish I still had
I somtimes wish i still had my old 99 Lumina LTZ, then drop a supercharged 3.8 GTP motor into.
My dream car
I already own it, my 04 Pontiac GTO 6spd. Maybe some day i will find a 70-71 GTO so i can have old and new.
Car clubs I’m in
