About me and my passion for cars
I literaly grew up with a wrench in my hands!! I remember getting into my dads tools at a very early age, of course, him yelling at me to stop! LOL. I was raised with Chevy trucks and cars of all differents types. We were a Chevy family until my uncle aquired a Ford 7.3L Diesel a few years back and some of my family has since comitted TREASON and switched sides! I am a DIE HARD Chevy fan and will ONLY love Chevy. I have the tattoos to prove it! I have had a few different makes, and yes I have owned one Ford. I had a '97 Explorer with a 5.0L 4spd auto. This thing would run! but I could not get over the a major flaw that this thing had, the blue oval! ha I sold it to a buddy that had kids. I have owned a few nissans and and a Dodge too. I had a rare '84 Daytona Turbo with a stick shift, Black on Black and a sunroof! I sold it when a STOCK neon kicked the s#(t out of me down the highway! I built my first "hot rod" at 26 and it had a 350 horse, 4 bolt main 355 I put a set of worked 1.94 heads and on top I put a new Edelbrock Preformer RPM and an Edelbrock 600cfm with macanical secondaries! An Accel distributor and super coil set the fires through a set of 8mm wires and the spent gasses were expelled through a set of Flow Tech headers( I had these on three different SBC's and never had a leak using Percy's gaskets top and bottom!) to a 2.5" pipes to single chamber Flowmasters dumped at the diff! Who needs a radio when you make your own sweet sounding hot rod music?!! ;-} That was married to a stout TH350 with a stiff shift kit. I put a shifterless column and a B&M ratchet shifter in it. Bucket seats out of a Camaro and I lowered it with a 3/4 drop. I was forced to sell it before I could complete it, that was a very sad day for me!!!!! I have since purchased a new toy! '78 K5 2WD Blazer. I wanted either a Blazer or a Camaro so that the whole family could enjoy the ride. I have had two other full size Blazers and never built one, so I figured this was the one for me!
My first car
My First vehicle was a '73 Chevy long bed fleet side. It had a rebuilt 4 bolt main 350 with a new TH350 tranny. It was an ugly faded green with the white stripe down the side. This thing would burn the Uniroyal Tiger Paws till they would pop!! This was a great truck for a Senior in high school.
Car I wish I still had
Either my '78 short bed aka "lil Shorty" or my '83 Z28 that would get a nasty third gear scratch!
My dream car
Between a '70 split bumper Camaro SS 454 4spd! Jet Black with either red or black interior!
A '96 Impala SS Black Cherry w/ gray interior. or a
3rd gen IROC black on black with TTops and a manual transmission and 373 posi rear.
Car clubs I’m in
None as of yet, but a group of us are thinking of starting one!
