Well, the Cougar finally made it into the paintshop today. Took an hour to get it out of the garage, pushed thru some snow (no motor in the car sucks), and then up onto the trailer...but in the end the drive to the shop was rather normal, no problems with the huge hole in the roof of the car (luckly it wasn't snowing) -- and the car still managed to turn heads while being towed, with no front bumper. ;)

Now the fun begins, lots of new bodymods are going on, the cage is getting installed, the roof is getting welded tight, and the whole car is getting its LizardSkin and paint... Progress pics will be forthcoming...

Ok, I accepted the first two challenges just to see what they're like. After realizing they are nothing more than a popularity contest I will no longer be accepting any challenges -- I think its absolutely stupid that cars that wouldn't even stand a chance against me in a car show come within a few points of a tie. I also don't like the fact that I receive messages asking me to vote for them so they can win a challenge -- again that's not how you should win, if your car is good enough it will win on its own...

I didn't spend $50k on this car to see it get beat by some of the worst looking or some bone-ass stock car, I swear some people have no taste when they are building their cars and others think they can buy a new car and compete with no mods...

Hate me for it if you like, haters will be haters...

Well, today we started the teardown of the Cougar for the 07 rebuild. With the help of quite a few friends we were able to gut the interior in a short period of time with only the dash remaining in the car. By the end of the week the 2.5L motor will leave the car for the final time, along with the stock MTX-75 transmission. Then flatbed will arrive next weekend to take the car over to the painters where we'll media blast the entire car. This year we're going to Lizardskin the entire interior, engine bay, and undercarrage -- using a combination of their sound and heat barrier products. Once paint is completed the motor and tranny will finally go in, a nice new Supercharged 3L, with a huge laundry list of mods including direct port nitrous, mated to a tricked out MTX-75 built to handle the power. It should be a fun build...
