About Mc_Lovin92’s Garage
About me and my passion for cars
I'm 18 and I live in central New York. My parents own a garage in a town even smaller than mine about 4 miles away. Our garage is complete with a lift, tire machine, welders, you name it. The school I attend has an entire program dedicated to automotive technology, so I can also use that resource to my advantage. It's great because I get the garage discount when ordering parts. For example, my front rotors would be 60 bucks for any commoner but I got them for 28.72. Although cars are in my blood and run in my family, automotive work is not what I plan on doing with my life. I see it as more of a hobby, but I want to become something bigger overall. For now, I'm just workin (I'm a short order cook at the local diner), schoolin, and livin.
My first car
My first car was a 2000 Chevrolet Impala. I bought it for $240.00. All it had was 72,000 miles on it. It needed a transmission, because it only had reverse. Oh and did I mention, it is a retired police car? I fixed it and put it on the road. After a year and 2 months of driving it it broke down on the way to Binghamton. Later evaluation discovered I had spun a crank baring. Also, there was a noise in the top of the motor. I have since taken it off the road and it is sitting behind my garage on a cement pad. Next spring I plan to put a new motor and transmission in it out of a 2004 supercharged impala ss. I am also putting a high performance computer in it and springs that will lower the back by 1.50 inches and the front by 1.25 inches.
Car I wish I still had
My first truck I ever actually owned but never drove. It was a 1988 Isuzu Pickup. When I bought it it needed a motor. While working on finding a motor for it I stumbled across the 2000 Impala and ended up junking the Isuzu for the money to buy the Impala. Looking back I wish I had just saved the money for the Impala and kept the Isuzu for a winter vehicle. It was a truck from North Carolina, so it had little to no rust on it at all. It was also 5 Speed and 4x4. I wish I still had it, I could have had a lot of fun in a New York winter with it.
My dream car
I have a few favorite cars. Mostly muscle cars. But I would have to say my ultimate dream car would be a 2010 Subaru WRX STI. With all the street racing goodies.
