- Description: On February 23, 2008 Portland International Raceway held its re-grand opening of the track after several months of resurfacing the track. My car club, Portland Club Grand Prix or PDXCGP, attended this event. For $10 you could take three "touring" laps of the course... but it wasn't exactly "touring." Following a pace car in groups of 10-15 cars, I ended up reaching speeds of 90mph on the straight aways and 60-65mph in the corners. Photos were taken by Friends Of PIR.
