1932 Indian Four (Big Boy)
Last updated Jul 19, 2009
I owned this bike in 1958 while stationed in the Navy in Japan. The bike had been in Japan since 1936.
The attached picture isn't of my bike. It is the same color though. Mine had a gold Indian Chief head tank decal and was left hand shift which was stock placement. For some reason this bike in the picture and others I found all located in India were switched to right hand shift.
4 cylinder inline, left hand shift 3 spd transmission, left foot suicide clutch with lockdown device, hard tail, 1/4 eliptical leaf spring in front. single side draft carb. Left hand twist grip spark control, right hand twist grip throttle no spring return. 1480cc..
Indian head running light on front fender.
Dual straight pipes 1-3 & 2-4.
