1968 Honda Mini Trail Z50A K1 Silver/Blue (Z50)
Last updated Mar 30, 2012
The year was 1980 and I was turning twelve years old.
My best friend had a Yamaha 80 and I wanted one really bad.
The time had finally came, Mom held her hands over my eyes and walked me to the garage and I heard the yell of surprise!!! and off came the hands and my eyes fell upon my 12 year old boys dream. And it was not a Yamaha 80 !!!
I didn't know what it was but I knew better than to express disapointment so it was at that moment that the love affair for my Honda Mini Trail started. Oh boy! What A time I had with my Honda Mini Trail. The folks had a lake lot on Cedar Creek lake and every weekend I would jump on that little Honda and off I would go, not to return until just before dark. As you can imagine a twelve year old boy could be terribly hard on such a toy and that I was. Laid her down a hand full of times, ran her into a couple of trees, ran through a million water filled pot holes, and jumped her as high as I possibly could. I soon out grew my little Honda and on to other toys I would go. But everywhere I moved through adulthood with me she came. Then one day I decided to get her put all back together, back to how she looked the day she was made. And oh what a beauty she has turned out to be. Gone are the wild rides of a youthful little boy. Now she is pampered with polish and cream but just looking at her still makes the little boy inside SCREAM!!!
