Been a while .....
Tue Sep 23, 2008
Well, i9t's been a while a since I've done anything on the site. Family and work (as with most people) has taken up a LOT of my time. Just as an update, "Fred" is still st my brother's shop getting ready for paint. It's not that we are doing a lot of work, with both our schedules, it's been hard to rind the time. Hopefully we can put a lot more into it this winter.
WTF .....

So, my dad called me the other day saying there was a 77 Nova he saw advertised for $800. He called the gal to see if it was still available. Apparently it was cause about an hour later I get a call that he bought it sight unseen and needed me to drive with him to pick it up. Honestly, I am amazed it made it home with us. It ran pretty well, but needs a LOT of work. He seems excited about it, so I hope he puts the effort into it. It could be a nice little sleeper if done right.
Crossin my fingers

My dad and I are headed to the car show in Pleasanton tomorrow. Granted, the Good Guys events now are pretty corporate, but we still like to go thru the swap meet area. We've been doing it since I was a kid. I have my fingers crossed that we may be able to find some parts for "Fred." Otherwise, it's back to the net to see what I can scrounge up. Who knew 66 wagon parts were so hard to find. : )
Sunday visitation .....

I stopped by my brother's shop yesterday. I needed a bolt for the WAI and some rubbing compound for the paint scratches from the door dings (both for my Altima).
While I was there, I figured I would snap a couple of pics of "Fred" as he sat with most of the molding off and the bodywork being done. I'll post them later (as I am at work and they are on my home laptop).
I also spend a good hour or so working on his computer. He got Quicken for his business paperwork (invoices, estimates, etc.) and had a couple of items he wanted changed or was having some trouble figuring out.
