How I ended up with the HHR.
Mon Feb 12, 2007
I started out just looking for an econimical car with decent mpg's and room on the inside. I looked at the Caliber, Ford 500, Magnum, Challenger etc....Most either had too big an engine or not enough room.
I always liked the PT but there are so many on the road now I wanted something different. That's when I remembered seeing an HHR one day a few months earlier. I went to the local dealer and started eyeballing em. I really liked the price, the room and the mpg's!! Then I saw the Spring Editions, of course here in St. Louis, they called it Cardinal Red but it looked HOT!!!
I knew I was going to take one home. I called my wife and told her to swing by the dealership to see "our" new car. In the mean time I was still checking them out. They had a few SE's. I told them I wanted the smaller motor thinking it would have better mpg's, WRONG! as soon as he told me they got about the same, my decision was made. It was then getting the options. I learned long agon, get as much as you can at the start. The SE already had the chrome package and running boards so that was good. I ended up getting one wiht leather seats, roof rails, and the premium audio set up.
They only made about 2300 SE's. They were the only HHR's made for 2006 that came with chrome wheels, 16", two tone seats and the ebony interior.
My wife ended up liking it so much, we're now a two HHR family!
I've done and had done a LOT of mods, well over 80! And Bob, that's my HHR's name, is getting ready to go in for a major facelift. Unveiling this spring!!
Glad a friend told me about this site. Now its all about fun!
