Trying to be cool in the Texas heat...in my 1976 Trans Am

One of my favorite quotes is attributed to Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones. As the story goes, an interviewer once asked the question: "Don't you feel at least a little bit foolish doing what you do on stage at your age?" His response was: "There's a part of me that's sixteen years old...and I nuture it."
So several years ago, I arrive at a car event and the tech line to be classed was embedded in the show field. I slowly burble through the crowd with my sunglasses on and the t-tops off, turn up ZZTop "Tres Hombres" (La Grange, to be precise) thumping on the 8-track and, not only am I sixteen again, I'm as cool as it gets.
I slow to a halt due to pedestrian traffic and sit there enjoying the moment when all of a sudden I'm distracted by movement to my right. I turn my head and there's this sweet, little, old, white-haired lady with her head in the car checking it out. She had to have been pushing seventy-five. She looks up with a smile and says: "What a nice car!...can I go for a ride?"
So much for thinking I had a "chick magnet"...
