Challenges Challenges Challenges

Well I decieded last week to just stop challenging anyone. It doesnt seem to be as fun without the comments and I'm finding that comparable cars to challenge are becomingh an issue. Also work is just taking up way to much of my time to get onto the internet and that just about did me in! It was fun while it lasted though:O)

Enjoy guys/gals!

And bring the comments back!

Challenge Remarks

Blog post photo

How sad is it that Motortopia had to remove remarks for challenges because of nonsence. The whole concept of the challenges is to let people notice your ride and see all of the hard work or effort you have put into it. Be it a yugo or a corvette. All in fun!

Will voting be biased?..Sure it will..There is no getting around that. You may like Yugos I may like Pacers. Thats life. Granted it is a little difficult to swallow when you loose a challenge with a car you've put countless hours into against a car that is stock or worse then that beat up and stock. Kind of puts a dampner on it. However there is a way around that.

What I think we need to do as a community is repect each others rides and at the very least make it as fairly competative as you can. Challenge cars that are more in the same class as yours. I'm not going to challenge a 500hp BB nova with my basically stock Tbird at the track just as I wouldnt on here. Same goes for my Turbo v8 car. I'm not going to challenge a stock mustang with it.

Basically what I'm saying is to keep this fun and refrain from the excessive smack talk. There is no need for it ever to get personal. Talking crud about one anothers cars is part of the game...But there comes a point where you need to draw the line. Again it should never get personal.

This is all what we call bench racing anyway.

In the end we are the only ones that can police this activity..As a community..If Motortopia lets the comments back

Just think about it.

The A/R Project

Filed under: 1994 Ford Thunderbird (The "Girlfriend")

Well every so often someoen mentions this car on the SC forum I belong to and it depresses the heck outta me. The A/R kit that was created and on this car is MIA. It was sent out to get some rewelding and modifications done and well its gone now. The guys gone, the blowers gone...Its all just gone. Nowhere to really mention it here but in a journal so here I am mentioning it!

I have a few projects I need to get going before I get back to this car so its all good...I'd make more power with a turbo setup anyhow!

MN12/FN10 Group

Well I started a group on motortopia for all fn10/mn12 based Ford platfom vehicles. This of course includes the Lincoln Mark VIII's and all 89-97 Tbirds and Cougars. The group seems to be taking off like wildfire. Only a few weeks in and already over 50 members strong. Thats awsome!

For most "hot rodders" these cars just do not = performance of anykind...

Big..Heavy...Slow...My grandpa owned one....My Grandma owned one.... You know...I've heard it all

This group is all about showing others what these cars are all about...And what they can be capable off. The original completed concept fully running car (supercoupe)was done in 1986 with production starting in 1988 for 89...The fn10 Mark VIII came out in 1993..the Thunderbird was way ahead of anything American at that time (yeah believe it or not) The chasis in its ultimate form (the thunderbird supercoupe) was meant to rival the European GT cars of the time..And they did..All with a 3.8 Supercharged engine. And on the luxory side the Mark VIII's had the more famous of the two, the 4.6DOHC engine similiar to that found in the Mustang Cobra

Throughout the years anywhere from an anemic 3.8 N/A, 3.8 supercharged, 5.0 OHV, 4.6 SOHC and lastly even 4.6DOHC motors were installed in the various models. All of these have been modded to various levels of performance by what I call "unique hot rodders" that just dont stick to the norm.

All in all the platforms had a 10 year run with the Thunderbird "supercoupe" breathing its final breath in 1995,the Tbirds/Cougars fading away in 1997 and lastly the Mark VIII's sad death in 1998.

This group is indeed dedicated to those who trully love and appreciate these cars for what only they know they are....And hopefully others will see as well!
