I was on the way home from Reading. When a person in front of me was making a right turn going down a hill, I hit the brakes and lost control of the Hell Beast. I started to slide to the left and some how I over corrected and it started to slid to the right. So I let go of the wheel for a second and jumped on the gas. As the rear started to slide to the left I was able to get her back under control. The worst part was that my son was in the back seat at the time. After this all happened I was told by my wife that I just missed hitting the poll by inches. So needless to say I was shaken up for about 10 miles or so. I thought about what had happened and the only thing I can come up with is that the brake are the reason I almost wrecked the Monte tonite. Man my Mom must have been in the passenger seat with me because if I did not do what I did I might not be here now. Talk about crappin a pickle.

I went to Ford u-pull it yard yesterday and discovered that they have 2 3rd gen montes in the yard. I one of the montes had the rare tilt colume with a cruise control switch. I figured that I would pull it from the car and figure out if it was worth the time and money I invested in it. I took a good look at it today and found out that the colume is in great shape just needs a rag joint. There is no movement in the colume when it is locked in place. So tomarrow I will clean up the colume and paint it. When everything is dry I will pull out the old POS colume and replace it with the tilt colume. The next things I am going to pull off the car is the doors. But that is another post. Best of luck to all of you guys who are the hunt for a prefect tilt colume thay are still out there. Just keep looking.

The name grocery grabbler was given to the the Monte the last day it was on the road at ACME of all places. Prior to that it was name The B*tch. Because it acted like one. I was always working on some thing to keep it runnin right. Don't get me wrong I loved to work on it but it was always the small problems like, I nite I came out of TRU w/ my wife and kid and could not get it to start. It hade no power at all. The previous owner had a problem with the electrical system and in stead of fixing it right he riged it. So from time to time I would have to grab the wiring harness a jerk it aroud to get it to work.

This car has tought some of the dumbest honda drivers in my area a lesson. That you do not mess with a Monte Carlo because you will get burned. 3 Victorys and 1 Loss due to loss of fuel pressure.aka"runing out of gas"
