Engine Bay Paint Match

Filed under: 1970 Dodge Super Bee (Bee)

Blog post photo

picked up some B5 Blue for the engine bay, and layed it on. It does not match the body of the car. Unfortunately I didnt realize the original owner changed the color of the car. So I'm on the hunt for a paint match.

Airgrabber Ram Air Off for touchup

Filed under: 1970 Dodge Super Bee (Bee)

Blog post photo

I removed the Airgrabber Ram Air setup off the super bee. I'm going to use some oil polish on it to make it come back to life. Also there are a few small cracks that need to be fixed and it will look like new.

Prepping Engine bay for paint

Filed under: 1970 Dodge Super Bee (Bee)

Blog post photo

The 440 block has been dusted with some new chrysler orange. I figured while I have everything out of the engine I might as well lay some new paint in there too. Therefore we're going to repaint the motor, the paint I already picked up some B5 Blue made by PPG. We're going base/clear. More pics to come......

Year One Exhaust Manifolds Arrived

Blog post photo

The headers on the bee rusted out like an old tin can, so I ordered these new reproduction exhaust manifolds from year one. They are the high performance 440 exhaust manifold. They're exact copies of the original with no pitting or cracks to deal with! Score. I can't believe the quality of them, they'll look great in the engine bay. We've already bolted the passenger side manifold up and it looks great.
