Challenges - Waste of Time or ?
Mar 26, 2008 | Views: 672
I am concerned about some of the groups on this site making challenges a total waste of time. Their members select cars to challenge and then all of the members of the club are instructed to vote for the club member's car, even if the car that's been challenged is far superior to some of their rust buckets. This is not why this site was setup. I, along with many others, shouldn't have to tolerate this type of behavior.
I would be interested in hearing from everyone else on this subject...

Carsponsorships.com

IS IT WORTH JOINING CARSPONSORSHIPS.COM?
Well her is your Answer HELL NO!
I personally joined them last september & they make the promise that you will get @ least one sposorship, well that is true I did & that was it, Just one out of a years worth of work going to show after show taking photo's trying to meet there requirements, but it never pays off there are a few select group of guys that win everything & by what I can tell they must be the ones that started the sposorship group!
I have been to over a dozen shows, you all know that from the photos I've posted but they seem to keep changing the rules, didn't wear the right shirt- didn't have the photo's date stamped-etc...
So If I can give some advice to anyone contenplating joining 1-don't do it, 2- if you do join make sure you live some were that they have shows year round to attend or you'll just be another pay check to them!
These are just My personal oppinions to answer other members questions about the sponsorship programs, so If you have luck a get good sposorships & actualy recieve the product then keep it up but if you are new to the sponsorship program good luck but don't say you were not worned!
PS. The Alblum I've Attatched is one of the cars I was trying to get sponsorship product for, if that car doesn't meet there standerds I don't know what would,The Products that I have got form some of the companies they use I actualy paid for the product myself through there quasi program & even then still never met the requirment's to get my $$$ back, The quasi program is were you buy the product, then install it, go to some shows, send in photos of the products installed on your vehicle & if you win a 1st 2nd or 3rd place trophy they remimburse you accordingly - well guess what that never happened eighter!

Death& Surgery Hugs see you later
Apr 25, 2008 | Views: 241
FYI my father has passed away. It was a very hard last day. He is finally at peace.
I'm glad it happened now and not when I was in surgery the burial itself will be later some day with family, after I recover. My mother has not decided on burial. My mother is taking it fairly well it has been very hard on all of us the last month.
Talk to you someday later my surgery preop is Tuesday and surgery is Thursday. Hopefully nothing will stop it they found I had a mini stoke sometime about a month ago they are doing ct scan on brain etc first to find out whats happening. The mini stroke was found by eye neurologist on routine test yesterday. I knew something happened I lost all my strength and could not get out of bed for about 3 days or a week and I was falling into walls etc balance and forgot everything. But I chalked it off to nerves. Well I hope it was just a nerve problem Wish me well I will be laid up for about 30 days after surgery. But at least I know my dad is watching out for me now from Heaven.
Hugs to all.....

McCain Quits. Romney will Be President. Rambler to become Official U.S. Car.
Apr 1, 2008 | Views: 322
Replacing McCain will be Mitt Romney, who was running a very strenuous campaign until he quit in favor of McCain earlier this year.
It is reported that Romney, who now drives a Gremlin - retooled with a Hydrogen Fuel Cell, will announce that the Rambler will become the official car of the United States and that production on reproductions will start immediately.
Romeny is confident of victory. He has received the endorsement of the RSL AMC (Retired and Still Living American Motor Company employees) now based in Boca Raton, FL.
P.S. George Romney, Mitt's Father, was President of AMC (American Motor Company) which produced the Rambler, followed by the initial success of the Gremlin. The Gremlin was introduced on April 1, 1970. John McCain's father and grandfather were both admirals.
Today is April Fools Day. !!!! :-)

Brrr in the Midwest!!!
Dec 12, 2007 | Views: 245
I needed to get out of the house for groceries, some food for the cat, and some other errands. But on this icey day in Nebraska, it took a lot of scraping and "warming up the car" to get the icey sheet off my car, but I got it done in about 30 minutes.
Actually, I enjoy the snow and ice. And since most of us at Motortopia work at home a lot; everyone could stay home and focus on coding up the next great thing for the site.
Hope you all stay warm!

One hand on wheel, one hand in pants, cradling cell phone, brick on accelerator: California*
*with gun in lap: L.A.
Both hands on wheel, eyes shut, both feet on brake, quivering in terror: Ohio, but driving in California.
Both hands in air, gesturing, both feet on accelerator, head turned to talk to someone in back seat: Italy
One hand on Latte, one knee on wheel, cradling cell phone, foot on brake, mind on game: Seattle

I believe I had my last appointment at the Cleveland Clinic this past week. I pray I don't see that place ever again.
I've been missing my father terribly, finally finally I got to his grave. I went by myself and really lost it. He was a friend a father and I could ask him or tell him anything he loved me and he would always be there for his little girl. No matter what.
My mom is the same, so now I find myself driving more often 45 minutes a couple times a week to her home. She will eventually move towards me a bit more. Maybe closer to my sister that is 5 years older then I. Her husband and her have a rental home one of many that is right by them the yards meet in the back from the side street. It would be nice, I would know my mom is safe. She has Parkinsons and it is bad enough that she needs not to be alone too much longer.
Anyway I'm are working on remodeling the family room and setting a tiny area up wiith a wine bar and some unique items . So if you have a wine from your state that is unique and not costly that has a photo of something interesting let me know, I would love to have the bottle for my colllection, I have bottles from all over the Islands that I have traveled and a few cruises on ships I just save them for something to talk about. If you have something else unique let me know I maybe interested in a purchase ..thank you.
The Corvette is getting a few new toys updates on it revamped to be in that more perfectionist state.
The cabin will be last to e worked on the inside needs to e torn and revamped.
(Thank you Danna lov for calling today and reminding me everyone is wondering how I am doing). Well my friends I think I'm doing pretty darn good.
HUGS!!!

Help - I am drowning in car shows - LOL!!!
Dec 4, 2007 | Views: 635
I am "Happy" to report that it was another successful weekend here in sunny South Florida with beautiful weather, a great car cruise and two fantastic car shows.
Friday evening started it all off with the usual cruise-in at the Tower Shops in Davie, followed by a bite to eat with a few of the guys at the Falcon Pub.
Saturday morning I was up early to head on over to the S.A.B.A. Car Show on Andrews Avenue in Ft. Lauderdale. S.A.B.A. stands for the South Andrews Business Association and they put on a great show from 9:00 until 4:00 with 142 cars and trucks attending.
Saturday evening was dinner out at Stevie B's in Weston - an awesome place for ribs!!!
Sunday I was up early once again and headed over to the BIG show. The last real car show of the year, and the biggest. I was out of the house at 6:15 and headed over to meet up with a few buddies to drive on over to the show. It is held at the Festival Marketplace Mall in Pompano Beach and was attended by 610 cars and trucks. I was joined by 12 other members of the Got Muscle? Car Club along with my girl Tina from MFI. The day was awesome, although a little tiring, what with all the walking around...
I wrapped up Sunday at a small cruise-in at a Bar & Grille by the name of Zo's and was finally home and in bed at 11:30...
God I hope this week goes slow enough to get caught up at the office, yet quick enough to get to the weekend...
