Mary and I took the Prowler for a drive this morning. The weather was gorgeous so we had the top down. I had a hair cut appointment and stopped to get that. We actually had a crowd looking at the Prowler when we came out of the barber shop.
Mary's upside down tomato plants are still producing tomatoes. Kind of nice to just pick a tomato and use it right then. The pool is 82 degrees but Mary is still waiting for the 86. I guess I better turn the solar panels on soon.
Take care,
Jerry

We ran into way over a hundred people we know, but have not seen for a while. We met people from many clubs, and are attending a meeting of one of the local clubs this week.
Over all the entertainment was great. Super singers, a guy made a big bear with a chain saw (great demonstration), there were belly dancers, little Miss, and little Mr. Boulder City contests, there was a neat petting zoo, a train ride for kids (hmm I did fit into the seat) lots of other rides. Many, food booths, and hundreds of vendors so we are talking a really great show.
I added a small album of five or six additional photos I took on Sunday if you care to take a look.
Take care,
Jerry

The annual Spring Jamboree in Boulder City Nevada is half over. We got there at 6:30 ish this am and stayed until 4:00 PM. Nice but very long day. Going back for more tomorrow. There were about 300 cars there. I just took photos of some of the rides.
Tomorrow I will get some photos of the winners if I can.

We are very excited about getting a new great granddaughter.
One of the photos is of a slice of Mary's home made strawberry pie that I'm eating as I write this. It is good.
I must be going blind. I seem to see a box to the right of the main page showing a recent visitors box. Kind of neat. I also see some changes to the what's hot box.
We are trying to get the Prowler ready for a show at the Spring Jamboree, Boulder City, Nv on Saturday.
Take care,
Jerry
PS the photo is our granddaughter and me many years ago. Seems like yesterday though.

I stayed up late the other night and really shined up the Prowler. I used the new "ice" polish and it really shines. I finished late and the photos were taken in the dark. It is an ok little album though.
We have a couple shows coming up that we would like to attend with the Prowler. I hope we can get away for them. One is this coming weekend in our City so we should be able to make that one for sure.
Take care,
Jerry
Ps we purchased the set in this photo. For Grand Daughter.

Mary and I spent all morning today cleaning the garage up a bit. All of our work benches had become so cluttered that we could not find any thing. I need to do a little work on a couple rides but did not want to start with the garage that messed up. See the photo link below.
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend,

My sister Christine (Gig) really seemed to like the memories so I will put another up today. This memory is the earliest memory I have.
Where to start? I suppose I might start with my earliest memory. I'm not certain of my age when this event took place. It was before I understood speech (I may have understood the word mama) and I know from family history that I was an infant and still in my mother's arms. My parents were driving back from Missouri in a very old car. I think my aunt Bessie was with us, but I just have an inclination on that. I only remember this because of the alarm in everyone's voice and the flames from the fire were very frightening. The floor board of our car had caught on fire from the muffler burning the wooden part of the floor. I only remember the panic and the smell. My dad got everyone out of the car and threw sand on the floor boards and shortly there after we were on our way back to California.
That will do it for today. I hope everyone is having a great week.
Take care,
Jerry

If every member bought in three legitimate members, wow, the site would be so much bigger. More cars, photos and people.
"Latest Motortopia Blog Posts" now there is a place we might be able to improve. I might be alone in this thought, but while I see nothing terribly wrong with "copy and paste" journalism, I do think the author should at the very least critique what they have put on the site. Oh, and most importantly, sign the dam thing. Contrary to some thinking, remaining anonymous is not the best way to run a business. Does anyone think Bill Gates is an unknown, that Donald Trump tries to hide who he is? Let's at least use a little common since. Dam, it felt good to say all that.
Mary and I have hidden in the house all day. It has been to windy to venture outside. Perhaps tomorrow will be nicer.
Take care,
Jerry

Mary and I took the Prowler out of the garage this morning and drove to the post office. It seemed like a funeral procession as we made our way to the parking lot. I stayed with the Prowler while Mary went in and Mailed our tax return (return receipt requested) and came back out. To be honest we hated it more then we used to when we still had to go to work every day. OK, enough crying!
I really think the new changes to Motortopia will make it a more civil site, and hopefully, a lot more fun. My opinion, but who could possibly like having someone sneak up with a bunch of one votes every time they get close to something.
The photo is of Mary tending to some of her roses. They have really started blooming this week.
Take care,
Jerry

He has an electric boat that he races around the pool and can stay at it for hours. It has a rechargeable battery pack that is still good after two years.
I took him for a ride in the Prowler and he loves it. We also took a ride around town in the El Camino (no better sounding ride then that) and got lots of thumbs up in both rides.
The guitar came with a CD video and grandson loves it. We spent all afternoon yesterday and all day today playing. Grandson is still going strong, I'm tired and Mary is tired.
Got to go now as grandson wants to go fly the airplane kite (also from Harbor Freight) and he cannot wait.

Now for the really cool item. Mary wanted a Topsy Turvy Upside down Tomato planter. I was skeptical but of course I bought her one. On the way home we stopped at Lowes and picked up a cheap tomato plant. We got home and put it together. Easy job. We put the tomato plant in the bag upside down and stuck the end out through the foam center piece and then filled it with plant mix. Very cool thing see Harbor Freight trip photos included with this post.
Well that will have to do for today's blog except this: I went to the Dr. on Tuesday not feeling well. My blood pressure was quite high. That is why we bought the new blood pressure monitor. We have a good old one but it is a pain in the butt to use so I got the wrist model to check daily about three times for two weeks.
Take care,
Jerry

The new pool filter works super (see old photos from a couple weeks ago). I have finished planting all of Mary's new plants including the grape vine. I have two arbors to put up as the grape vine will grow up to about 50" long and needs something to hold to.
Hope all are doing well today!

Mary and I have been working on our taxes (dam bad word) this week. No happy day for us that is certain.
I have our 56 Chevy on Ebay and it has about 7 day to go. We have to thin out our garage some. Just too many rides. I admit we looked at a few last week but nothing grabbed us.

Joke
The Wife's Birthday
A man asked his wife, "What would you most like for your birthday?"
She said, "I'd love to be ten again."
On the morning of her birthday, he got her up bright and early and they went to a theme park. He put her on every ride in the park - the Death Slide, The Screaming Loop, the Wall of Fear. She had a go on every ride there was.
She staggered out of the theme park five hours later, her head reeling and her stomach turning.
Then off to a movie theater, popcorn, cola and sweets.
At last she staggered home with her husband and collapsed into bed.
Her husband leaned over and asked, "Well, dear, what was it like being ten again?"
One eye opened and she groaned, "Actually, honey, I meant dress size!"

I know it is a mess. To be honest Mary and I are never going to have one of those neat everything in its place garage. We do work on it but never get it finished.
We also did some work on the 56 Chevy truck today and a little on the front yard. I hope you enjoy the photos. They are in the album titled "Our brick and Mortar garage".

Joke
A woman's dishwasher had stopped working, so she called a repairman.
He couldn't accommodate her with an evening appointment, and since she had to go to work the next day, she told him "I'll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I'll mail you the check. By the way, dont worry about my Rottweiler. He wont bother you. But, whatever you do, do not under any circumstances talk to my parrot!"
When the repairman arrived at her apartment the next day, he discovered the biggest and meanest looking Rottweiler he had ever seen. Like she had said, the dog just lay there on the carpet, watching the repairman go about his business. However, the whole time he was there, the parrot drove him nuts with its incessant squawking and talking.
Finally the repairman couldn't stand the parrot's talking any longer and he told the bird to be quiet.
The parrot replied, "Get him, Brutus!"

We could not get a signal on the cell so I told Mary to stay with the car and I would catch a ride to a little gas station that is only about eight miles down the road. When I got there I would call a tow company and come back for her.
I started walking and to be honest had not gone too far when a car with four people in it stopped and offered me a ride. They were kind of ruff looking but they appeared sober so I got into the back seat of the car. As I got in the back seat I noticed an army type shirt on the floor and when my foot moved it just a little I saw it was covering cash in bank rappers. Yes, I was scared. I had hoped they did not notice that I had saw the money but I was not sure whether they noticed or not. I did spot a revolver in the console area of the front seat.
I decided to make small talk for a while and try to figure out how to get out of the car. It was a damn two door and there was no way to jump out. That is when I remembered the old gas station. As causally as possible I mentioned that I had to take a leak and would appreciate it if they could just let me off at the old gas station that was coming up in just a few miles down the road. I new they had not sold gas there for a number of years but when ever Mary and I had passed by they had the garage area open and some cars for sale.
When we got to the station the driver pulled in to the lot. It actually kind of surprised me to be honest. Any way it was very obvious that no one was there and it kind of made my heart sink.
The driver (seemed to go by the name of Merle) said I might as well jump out and take a leak out back as the restroom was likely locked. I got out of the car as casually as I could and told him they might as well go on as I would wait until someone got back and use their phone to call for a tow truck. He got a very irritated look on his face and said they would rather take me farther down the road where they new I could get to a phone. I was scared but managed a half grin and said that would be better. I would be right back as soon as I went to the bathroom.
I walked toward the restroom and tried the door. To my delight it opened and it was not really as dirty, at least it was not abandoned as it was too clean for that. I closed and locked the door. I figured to stay in the bathroom until they left and then get help. After just a couple minutes I heard Merle and the other guy from the front seat banging on the restroom door and telling me to hurry as they wanted to use the restroom and then get down the road. I panicked and started looking for away out. The window was on the same side as the door and I could not use that. I looked up and there in the ceiling was a large square access hole about 2' by 2'. I used the sink to get up into the hole and started crawling into a very large crawl space. That is when I heard a very loud bam and both guys were in the bathroom and one grabbed my leg and was pulling it hard, very hard just like I'm pulling yours.
Happy April Fools Day,
Jerry

Joke
Three sons left home, went out on their own and prospered. Getting back together, they discussed the gifts they were able to give their elderly Mother.
The first said, "I built a big house for our Mother." The second said, "I sent her a Mercedes with a driver." The third smiled and said, "I've got you both beat. You remember how Mom enjoyed reading the Bible? And you know she can't see very well any more. I sent her a remarkable parrot that recites the entire Bible. It took Elders in the church 12 years to teach him. He's one of a kind. Mama just has to name the chapter and verse, and the parrot recites it."
Soon thereafter, Mom sent out her letters of thanks: "Milton," she wrote one son, "the house you built is so huge. I live in only one room, but I have to clean the whole house."
"Gerald," she wrote to another, "I am too old to travel any more. My eyesight isn't what it used to be. I stay most of the time at home, so I rarely use the Mercedes. And the driver is so rude!"
"Dearest Donald," she wrote to her third son, "you have the good sense to know what your Mother likes. The chicken was delicious!"

In the attached album you can see us working our butts off trying to fix two tires on the 56 Chevy. The wheels are so rusted it took an act of who knows? to get the tires off the wheels. One wheel is so rusted it is not safe to use (chance of wheel splitting) so I had to put a tube in the very old spare. We are going to sell the truck and I do not want to spend much getting it up as I know a new owner will replace this stuff.

Name That Animal, Kids
Eddie's first-grade class was having a game of Name That Animal. The teacher held up a picture of a cat and asked, "What animal is this?" "A cat!" said Suzy.
"Good job! Now, what's this animal?"
"A dog!" said Ricky.
"Good! Now what animal is this?" she asked, holding up a picture of a deer.
The class fell silent. After a couple of minutes, the teacher said, "It's what your mom calls your dad."
"A horny bastard!" called out Eddie.

We worked all day on flat tires on the 56 Chevy truck. One tire will not be repairable. I will take the spare to the tire shop as I over did it yesterday and have them put a tube in it for now.
The wheel was so rusted that I'm unable to use it again safely.
Check out the album attached to this post as it has a few interesting photos in it. We are going to ride in something with some real HP if we are able today. Well get photos if we do.

Tiff With Riley
''My God! What happened to you?'' the bartender asked Kelly as he hobbled in on a crutch, one arm in a cast. ''I got in a tiff with Riley.''
''Riley? He's just a wee fellow,'' the barkeep said, surprised. ''He must have had something in his hand.''
''That he did,'' Kelly said. ''A shovel it was.''
''Dear Lord. Didn't you have anything in your hand?''
''Aye, that I did -- Mrs. Riley's left boob.'' Kelly said. ''And a beautiful thing it was, but not much use in a fight.''

The four of us went out to dinner last night and I as still full this morning. We went to Luceels (not sure of that spelling) and really pigged out. Menu is in the attached photos.
Jerry Jr. Still has his Ford Lightning truck but he bought a new 2008 Dodge truck that is gorgeous and has the Hemi, you can tell he is my son, LOL, It is a very nice extended bed pickup with all the comforts of home. The really nice thing about the truck is Jr. has to buy the gas and can just drive Dad around.
Check out the photos if you have a second.

Tough Love
A dying man smells his favorite oatmeal raisin cookies cooking downstairs. It takes all the strength he has left but he gets up from the bed and crawls down the stairs. He sees the cookies cooling on the counter and staggers over to them. As he reaches for one, his wife's wrinkled hand reaches out, smacks his and she yells: "No, you can't have those! They're for the funeral!"
