Wohoo!! Two weeks left of Duplicolor's Restoration Challenge and I made the top 4! This week i'm up against a '68 Yenko Camaro Clone. This will be a tough matchup and i'm hoping the Warbird will pull through this round and move on to the finals.
If you havent checked it out, go to www.restorationchallenge.com and register to vote and vote for who you think is the most deserving of the first place title and the grand prize. Every week two voters are randomly selected to recieve a $50 Advance Auto Gift Card.
Check it out, and get out in the garage and make that car truly "Your Ride"!
This is a challenge Dupli-Color is hosting to find the best vehicle restoration done without any professional assistance. This pretty much defines my ’69 Firebird restoration. I was chosen out of roughly 300 cars to be in the top 32. Now that I was chosen for the top 32, I need your help. The top 32 cars are now in a bracket style competition where they must be voted for by registered users. I already won my first round, and now I am up against some tough matchups. There are 4 more rounds, one week each, and I would like all of you to take the time and register to vote. Then check out all the cars and vote for who you think deserves the title of best homebuild ride.
Well, this past weekend my steering gearbox decided to leak all of its power steering fluid all over the garage. Looks like the seal just came apart (I guess getting 40 years of use out of one isnt so bad) and tommorow my new gearbox is coming in, so hopefully this weekend I can be back out on the road. I guess theres always something to do on these cars. Should be a fun swap though.
Well today was the Firebird's first time in a car show and first time it has been on the road for over 15 years. I just felt really good today getting a chance to sit back and watch people admire over my 2-1/2 years of work and it was even cooler to get to drive it for the first time since ive been restoring it. She still has some tuning/carb issues to work out, but I can drive it around and enjoy it for the purpose I originally bought it for.
