Loving You, Movie, 1957
Elvis is sitting in a Hot Rod in the photo. What can you tell us about it? Just the make would be great but anything you can find out is fine.
Thanks,
Jerry
Elvis Presley plays Deke Rivers, a delivery man who is discovered by publicist Glenda Markle (Lizabeth Scott) and country-western musician Tex Warner (Wendell Corey) who want to promote the talented newcomer to fame and fortune, giving him every break he deserves. Romantic complications arise as Susan (Dolores Hart), another singer in the group, offers him devoted admiration as Glenda leads him on with promises of a golden future.

- Thanks to everyone that left comments. It was indeed A 1929 Ford roadster mounted to a 1932 Ford frame. It was built in the late-1930s by a man named John Athan, who still owns it. It was recently restored and is widely known as "The Elvis Car" because of its participation in this movie. "The King" even managed to damage the driver's door during filming.

- It looks like a '28 or '29 Ford Model A roadster body with a '32 Ford radiator and grille. It's powered by a Flathead Ford V-8. (And that aftermarket windshield looks pretty cool!)

- The basis for the car was a 1929 Ford Model A frame and body. The roof and fenders were cut off and the windshield was made from the rear window of another car.. The engine was a 239 cu. in. Flathead Mercury V8.
