A Fine '69: Greg Hall's Camaro Z28

Walking through Autofest it was apparent that these cars were all hand picked and here by invitation only. Therefore the quality of the show was outstanding in all areas. There was of course the great variety of cars, the positive and fun attitude of all the owners and spectators, as well as the great indoor venue. However, as a car lover, there was one thing that wasn’t completely lacking, but did fall a little short for me: the presence of a solid and clean factory original/restored car. Restored or not, there were a handful of cars that could sort of fit the bill, but modifications kept getting in the way, until a bright orange 1969 Z28 Camaro belonging to Greg Hall presented itself.
It was as if you were in a Chevrolet dealership in 1969. Everything was, or appeared to be, original. This car’s engine was definitely not for show but for the street. No chrome here, just raw metal and black, like it just came off the assembly line. The interior was unbelievable, with gauges, steering wheel, radio, shifter, and bucket seats looking as if they never have even been replaced, but perhaps restored.
The exterior was everything a classic 1960’s Camaro should be. Start with the great front grille, move down to the rear wheel wells sticking out in order to house the larger rear wheels and tires, and finish with the compact no nonsense rear end, with the alloy Z28 symbol slapped dead in the middle of the trunk, of course.
There’s something about the late 1960’s Camaro that screams muscle car and if you were to try to define classic muscle car with a picture, Greg Hall’s 1969 Camaro Z28 would be perfect.
