Repairing the Double Deuce

As I said earlier we had a problem with the Double Deuce (our 1948 Chevrolet truck) after we got it back from the transmission shop. Whenever we were heading up a grade the truck started bouncing, that is, speeding up, then slowing down, very rapidly.

I got lucky. Replaced the fuel filter and drove the truck down the big grade to Lake Mead. I really pushed it on the way back up. No problems, it was the fuel filter. I could not blow through the filter no matter how hard I tried. I told the girl at the parts store it was for a 1979 Pontiac 301 V8 and she came up with the correct filter the first try.

I'm going back out now and try to get the new tail lights installed today.

Take care,
Jerry

Hey Paul you can imagine how pleased I was that it turned out to be my simple guess. I dreaded the other route (back to the Trans shop etc.) and the time.
this way our truck is back and as perfect as I can get it.

I'm happy to hear it was an easy fix.
