1973 Reinell RV2280 Cruiser (Brandy II)
Last updated Feb 2, 2010
I purchased this boat in May of '09 for 500 dollars. It was in need of total re-doing inside and out. But the engine and outdrive appeared to be all there and in great shape. As it would turn out the engine was locked up very lightly. PB blaster broke it loose and it runs great after alot of elbow grease.Out drive just needed an impeller to be good to go, as we found out the first time we took the boat out. It ran a little hot and we had to spend hours on lake michigan to nurse the poor thing back in to the harbor. Oh well live and learn. Now its a boat we can count on!
302 ford V8, 2 barrel carb
Mercruiser 888 outdrive
1981 Johnson 15hp kicker, with OMC kicker bracket
(2) Cannon Uni-troll 10 long booms for sides
(2) BIg Jon electric downriggers for the back
Perko and tite-lok rod holders
1980s Shoreline trailer, surge brakes, re-wired, all new hardware, LED lights, electric winch, 2 5/16 ball
This was Reinell's top offering in the size class. It was very well equipped, with stove, fridge, and vaccuflush head. Unfortunately none of that was included in my purchase, and since its a fishing boat I decided against adding anything, except the porta-potti.
Interior re-done with flat floor in cockpit area to eliminate dog house engine cover. This is nice for fighting fish! Numerous other upgrades. This boat didnt have so much as a floor when we started! Before and after tells all.
