1974 Riviera Sport (NoTides)
Last updated Jan 7, 2009
This boat was in a barn in Albany, Oregon for 17 years following the close of the Riviera boat plant nearby. The payroll checks bounced near their demise and so this boat hull and a boat dolly were pilfered from the plant in lieu of a paycheck. Dude that I bought it from was going to build it, never did. It was a slab of fiberglass when I got it, no motor/jet pump/guages/interior/controls of any kind. I brought it home on my buddies racecar trailer by means of bungee cording the dolly onto his racecar trailer, then loading the boat up onto the rails. Took about 4 years to complete...
Has a .040 over 454 Chevy motor, solid lift cam, tunnel ram, nice Holley up on top with the Mr Gasket Street Scoop. Pump was built by famous boat builder Ray Defir, out in Gresham, Oregon. He once held a world record for water skiing on the Columbia river and is an accomplished boat builder. Will shoot a rooster well over 100 ft.
Adorned with Autometer Pro Comp liquid filled guages, a Place Diverter, twin 10 galllon side tanks.
