This is what I hear is supposed to be like the "Big Opening" for the car show season. If it is, I'm missing something. The first cars on display when you enter are real nice, Then the next set are okay. In the arena area, there's a bunch of Mopars displayed on one side. Oh boy! What a disaster they were! Did they just bring crap in from the parking lot? They weren't show cars at all! The '71 Charger that was there, with about a full day and lots of concentrated detailing, could maybe compete with my "20/20" Trans Am with it's 12 year old paint job with "Bandit scuffs" on it and some rust scabs coming back. I was so disappointed with the cars there that I didn't even bother to take my camera out of my pocket and waste the batteries to take any pictures. There were some really nice cars there, don't get me wrong, but I feel I got ripped off for the $11 admission. Looking at the cars there made me feel real confident in the work we do at our shop! For us, good just isn't good enough! Yesterday when I was at the bank the teller asked if I had any plans for the week-end and I told her I was going to this car show. She told me to enjoy the car show. I replied back that I enjoy the car show every day at work! This past week I've been coming back to being me and it feels good! This week I got to work on an '08 H3 Hummer, a '65 Corvette, and a '39 Buick. There's also a '66 GTO in there we're transplanting an LS engine and 6 speed in. A '69 Road Runner, a '71 Dodge Demon, a '64 Sunbeam Alpine, and my boss's '57 Studebaker Pick-Up and now my step-son's '56 International "Barely Mader" Pick-Up. I've got my Trans Am and Nova at home in our garage. And there's all the cars I've worked on in the past. I can have a car show in my memory anytime! Who needs this stupid "Motorhead Madness" thing anyway?
