If you've read the history of the Hugger Z28, you would know that Tom Nehl was the originator of the car along with Bill Mitchell. I have contact with a very good friend of both of them, his name is Steve and he was one of the original builders of the cars under their direction.
When I read the caption under the photo of my cars, it read that Tom Nehl showed up at the Las Vegas Super Chevy show to show off these very rare cars.
I then sent an email to Steve as I felt he would really appreciate the caption on the photo as much as I did.
What I havent said so far is that Tom is much older now. He is in failing health.
Steve's response was "if only he could get along that well".
When the photographer wrote the caption on the photo, he confused the history of the cars and the names associated with that history, with me.
I am proud to have the presence of Tom Nehl live on at my expense.
Thanks for the cars you created. Thanks for your dream which is creating an article for all Motortopia readers with this small bit of automotive history on this Sunday night.
I hope you enjoyed this as much as I have.
