I hate making decisions, and right now i have a pretty tough one to make. My dad wants, and is almost begging me to sell my car. He told me he would buy me another car, he just wants me to have something better than what I have now. I found a z28 for 3k, but I can not for the life of me come to part with my car. I have been thinking pretty hard about this, but the more I think about it the more it hurts. It may be sad to some but next to my ole man, my car is my pride and joy. I dont have a whole lot to show for it right now, but i have the experiences and memories of the car and everything that has been done to it. I CANT DO IT!!!! what should I do? Keep my car and restore it, knowing its going to take alot of time and money to fix her up, or bend against what i feel, and make my dad happy and let him buy me another camaro?

Based on what I've seen you made the right decision and a good choice too.

Oh wow that is tuff one to decide the car looks like it is in great shape for its age. If he is going to help you get a new car or better I would say go for it but make it what you want as you said on here. Back when I was 19 I got my first new car it was a Chevy Cavaler RS it had all digital insterment but I regret getting rid of my 1976 Camaro back then I like you have done so much to it and was just plain greedy back then. I know did not help but good luck on what you decide!!

Dad's have wisdom that is based on years of experience; he wants the best for you. Listen to those who love you but only you know what is best for you!

Well all I can say is I have owned my car for 34 years and have been in your situation more than once and even had the car good as sold a couple of times. But I am sure glad I didn't go through with them! Now with all the memories and good and bad times I remember with that car it's a part of the family! So if your that attached to it well keep it and continue to enjoy it as best as you can! But don't let it grow into a family fued!

If you're happy with what you've got, why get rid of it? But give your Dad a chance and look at his alternative. Then go with which ever one you like best, even if the decision is tainted by memories. There are a lot of people out there who regret having long ago lost that car of their youth.
