Does Somebody Out There Not Like Me?

By alwaysakid

Filed under: 1954 Nash Metropolitan (Metro)

I know the styling of Metropolitans, and Nash cars in general of that era, are somewhat controversial. But most people who don't particularly like the looks still say the Metropolitans are so ugly, they're cute. But to only rate it one star is rather insulting. It can't be that bad. Even if the guy I sold it to left it sitting in his back yard for 20 years I don't think it would be THAT bad. There are a lot of cars out there that I find very unappealing, but I can't think of any deserving of such a low rating. So I have to ask, what did I do to somebody to make them want to rate this car so low? Or more to the point, what did this car do to somebody to deserve such a rating? Heck, a car this little and with so little horsepower, what could it possibly do to anyone? Even the porcupine that passed it by going down the road and then stopped to see if it would catch up didn't feel threatened.

Mets are one of the greatest cars out there (I'm not at all biased). They're economical to drive, they're easy to get parts for, attract a lot of attention when you're out and about. Anyone who would give a Met a 1 rating needs their head checked. 5 stars all the way!

I think Metro's are one of the coolest old small cars I have ever seen! The Spare tire outside the trunk,The big fenders covering up almost half the wheel openings are just sweet!
We have a pretty sky blue one in town and i'd buy that before I would buy a import car any day!
Hey Clark Kent aka Superman drove one in the TV series.
It rates a +5 star with me!

Pay no attention to the rateing. There are just some people who are jealous and give people low ratings. There are people out there that will give a 10 star car a 1 rating. I would not think twice about it. The Nash is not my favorite car either, but I look at what people have done and your car is very well done and it looks great, one of the best mets I have seen.
