The Bears – Duck game was a nail biting game to watch. Traditionally, Oregon has not played well against Cal (at least in the last 10 years). I was thinking the game would be tough early in the season – most everyone I spoke with were confident in the match up. I was right. That game was tough all the way through but the Ducks won, by managing the clock with a 15-13 finish.

Cal did a great job, their offensive and defensive line were huge compared to our players. We had another run of penalties that hurt us and the turn over resulting in a Cal touch down without a doubt kept them in the game. Again, a very uncharacteristic performance by the Ducks. Cal was effective of putting pressure on the Ducks and the less than ideal performance by the Ducks made for a close exciting game for all to watch.

The Ducks have some time now to prep for the Arizona Wildcats, which I thing is greatly needed. We lost Costa against the Huskies and Le Michael James started hobbling with a knee injury in the second half of this game. I hope the Ducks can heal up and be ready for another exciting Pac-10 game on Nov 26. Since Nick Costa is out for the rest of the season we may want to get some exposure for our Freshman Quarterback.

Cheers - Jeff
