Engine fixed...

By NiallOswald

Filed under: 2001 Ford Focus (Slow-cus) a cost. A cost which shall not be discussed ;-)

The good news is the engine feels much happier now and pulls more enthusiastically and smoothly below 3000rpm.

The clutch and slave cylinder were replaced at the same time, and the clutch action has been greatly improved, as well as the pedal becoming a fair bit lighter. It's certainly smoother pulling away and reversing now.

Hopefully this major investment in the car will keep it running well for a good number of years to come - needless to say I'm disappointed that it needed most of the engine replacing after 6 years and 90k miles, but you win some, you lose some.
