Fixed short in turn signal/Backup lights!

By sumrellm

Filed under: 1969 Chevrolet Caprice (Big Blue Bomber)

I finally figured out why my turn signal/backup lights fuse kept blowing when I turned on the ignition of the car. I have a Sunpro temp gauge that draws power from the hot post next to the 20A fuse for the turn signal/BU lights. I had another hot lead from the gauge screwed to ground, thus the fuse blew each time the ignition was turned on. I removed the hot lead from ground, taped it off and, voilà, the signals and BU lights started working. I had to take the Blue Bomber for a spin around town after getting the lights working again.
