By FriedGreenTMater

Do you believe in the Jack-a-lope? This is an un-doctored picture. It sure looks like a Jack-a-lope.........

Clever. By the time I was able to look at this, the answer was already up, but it was still a cool idea.

now for the rest of the story. A friend at work took this picture of a baby mule deer. It is looking away from the camera. the "antlers" are apparently some sticks behind it. while downloading the camera I saw it flash by and Jack-a-lope came to mind right away.

I agree with Corvair Jim, They are very rare and thought to be extinct. My Dad and his borther came upon a family in '38 while hunting in a remote area in south east Idaho. At first they thought it was just a rabbit family but as they got closer one of them charged at Uncle Marion who then slipped on the snow. Marion's action startled my Dad who then tripped and let a round off from his rifle..... the family was never seen again. Every few years my cousin Allan goes back to the same area while hunting looking for decendents.... last I heard only tracks have been found. Great picture!
