Rebuilding the 403

By Pretender

Filed under: 1979 Pontiac Trans-Am (Sherri)

I have currently begun taking apart the Oldsmobile 403 engine so I can take out to rebuild. Do not worry... I will make sure to put Sherri on life-support system while her engine is sitting in the garage to the side. While I was hauling *%# on I-75 toward Ocala I believe she threw a rod. I immediately got sick to my stomach, pulled over and hurled. But do not worry for Sherri, she will be back on her four aggressive steel belted radial's in no time.

I think this a common issue with 403. you had to replace the crank? did it need bored? my ran excellent and did not use any oil
