I knew it wasn't going to be an easy or quick job so I didn't wait until the truck was ready for them. They had been neglected for too many years just sitting there half buried in the dirt with the 2 front tires flat. The dirt washed off but the corrosion had to be scuffed off. I started out with a red scotch brite pad. That cleaned them up pretty good. I then went on to using a green scotch brite pad like we use to scrub the stubborn cooked on stuff in our pots and pans. The green pads smoothed out the catches from the red pads. Now they have to be polished out. I'm not sure what to use to polish them. I don't know why they were flat so that will have to be checked out. I know one wheel has water (ice) in it, so that one for sure has to be dismounted. I hope the other just has dirt in the bead that can be cleaned out and re-inflated. If they are out-of-round from sitting flat, I will have to get new ones. That's a bridge I'll burn when I get to it. I'm ready to pull the Trans Am out of the garage and drag the S-10 in and start back to work on it. I don't know where I'd park the T/A unless I'd dig out more of the snow bank the S-10 is buried in now. There's a lot to do and winter is too long to wait. I've got more wood for heating in the wood stove so I'm ready. I still need a new air compressor. There's also some outlets I want to wire in, but that's unrelated to the S-10. The way things are going at work I have plenty of time off to work on my stuff, but that makes money short. Double-edge sword, huh? Story of my life! When I have time, I don't have money. When I have money, I don't have time! God will provide enough of each for me to get my projects completed. Makes me wonder if I should kick my shop start-up plan in soon!

After doing a bit of checking, I found out these wheels are now discontinued by American Racing. At least the polished version is. They are still available chromed. I found out when they were available they cost $173 each, and that was lowest price I found. I got mine with tires mounted as a trade for a set of Chevelle rims and tires. I kicked myself for a while afterwards but I'm okay with it now.
