Well, I got my alternator back today. I have to admit that I think it turned out rather nice. The color I picked is not everyone's cup of tea, but at least it's not jump-out-at-you fog visible yellow or anything! Although now that I have it finished, I find myself wanting to do just a tad more to it. So I have decided to have the visible bolts, screws and nuts chromed. I'm not a fan of a completely chromed engine compartment, but do like chrome for accents. So that's what I'm going to do now. Suck because now that winter is setting in, I'm not going to get to drive it. Once I get to drive it again, nearly 18 months will have passed since I last drove it. I guess it's not that big of a deal, because I'm keeping the miles off of it. I sure do miss it though...

Thanks for the well-wish. I try not to think about it too much. It's enough to bring the most optomistic person down a few notches. I don't even know if my year's worth of treatments has worked. I have another scan in early January to find out for sure...at least for now.

The SC is like most...a work in progress. I've had SCs for 5 years now and the MN12 chassis since '96. I've been tinkering for a while. It will all come together sooner or later. Money is the only thing holding me back. I don't get a large allowance for my SC anymore.

I understand that. I knew it. Took a look at your profile. Just didn't wanted to mention it. You are great man. And I hope that you keep clear for that a very, very long time. Good luck with your ride man...

Yes, 18 month is a long time. But there's a good reason behind it too. For 12 months when I first parked it, I was undergoing treatment for cancer. So for a year, I didn't even feel like driving it at all, let alone work on it.

Thanks for the compliment on the color. Most of my engine will go to that color with chrome and red accents. I want a very neutral looking engine compartment with a splash of bling. I think it will look great when it's done. This is just the first step of many.

Also the alternator is better than what Ford put out. It's rated at 110 amps, but in reality, this one now puts out 135 amps. That means that I don't have quite the need to upgrade that I thought I did.

18 months is a lot of time dude. Anyway, it surely does worth it. By the way, that color looks good. Lets wait to see how it looks with the chrome. I think it's going to look fine. Good luck buddy.
