About “Ol' Willie”
This here is Ol' Willie with my dad and brother. Ol' Willie is a WWII military Jeep. He was given to my dad from my grandpa. He has a canvas top that folds up or down and the windshield can lay down too. I'm not sure of the exact year, but he is either a 1945 or 47.
These are some of the things Ol' Willie and others like him were used for during the war:
Military reconnaissance
VIP transport
Artillery hauler
Mobile mounted machine-gun
Emergency troop ambulance
Rescue vehicle
Mobile rocket launcher
Mobile radio/communication vehicle
GI mover
All-terrain/go anywhere/get-the-job-done workhorse
