About “Heaven Bound”
I purchased this 1951 Chevy sedan delivery out of a junk yard in eastern Idaho in 1991 but only had to rebuld all the brakes to get it on the road. I used it for a daily driver for the first few years. When I got it the original 218 6-cylinder engine had already been replaced with a 1953 235 c.i. six. After I used that engine up, my son helped me install a 350 c.i. V-8 along with the automatic transmission and rear end from a 1974 Nova SS. My son did most of the engine swap in his high school shop his senior year at Blackfoot, Idaho (his teacher has done several of his own streetrods). A friend of mine, Richard Bingham, painted a steam locomotive on the sides and lettered "Heaven Bound" next to his artwork.
