I bought this car as a birthday present for myself just before i deployed for the second time to the sand box. It kinda funny cause my friend found it randomly on craigslist and got it because it is her dream car, but she came upon hard times and need to sell it so she sold it to me with the promise that i would take good care of it and let her drive it once it's finished. Now in the process of looking up all those little parts that will be the finishing touches for her since she will be torn apart this summer and gone over with a fine tooth comb. Gunna try and save about 5 months worth of deployment pay and make sure she really shines. Hoping to finish by mid-summer - since i will be unemployed when i get home i can spend all my time working on her! I am planning on putting disc brakes all the way around (4 to six piston up front and 2-4 piston in the back) might go for a pro-touring/street and strip type set up, cause... well i wanna have fun, and Yea i will still her drive on the dirt roads, the only time my car will ever see a trailer is if I break something! These cars were meant to be DRIVEN!
About “Gen'l Sherman”
One family owner. Still have window sticker, protecto plate, emission control systems manual and the owners manual. Sticker price $4,466.09 (actual delivered price $3,836.17 including tax, tag, etc.).
Within two weeks after the car was restored, I drove it on a 720 mile round trip to NC and back so my father could see it looking like new again (at least the body and interior). Since then, I have had the engine detailed and painted (will add pictures later).
Since leaving the dealer's lot, this car has not and hopefully will never see a trailor for transporting it. It was my father's commuting car in the 70's and 80's and will still be driven every where. When I retire, I'd like to use it to deliver meals for "meals on wheels."
Specs for “Phoenix”
1970 vintage 350 with 2.02 heads, Lunati cam with .525 lift, edelbrock 4 barrel carb, edelbrock intake, New TH350 behind it with a shift kit,2,500 RPM Stall, Full Length Hooker headers into 3 inch pipes and 3 inch flowmaster mufflers. It revs pretty easily and real nice idle to it, the brakes were out when it bought it but i got it home fixed em, and yea it is fast enough to make me smile. it was a column shift but now has a B&M rachet shifter on the floor

LT1 V-8 engine (350cid). Automatic transmission (400 Turbo-Hydra-matic). Solid Lifters. 3.73 Positraction rear axle. 4-barrell Holley carburetor. I found a good mechanic and now I've gone back to the Holley carburetor.

After doing some sanding to prep it for primer i found that it used to be all gold with chrome accents, Power Steering, manual four Wheel drum brakes (i know WTF was Chevy thinking trying to stop a heavy Chevy like this with Drums all the way around!) Mods for “Phoenix”
307 is long gone with a nice 1970 vintage 350 in it's place( edelbrock Carb and intake, Flat tappet Lunati cam with .525 Lift, 2.02 Heads), almost year old TH 350 backing it,B&M Rachet Shifter helps me pick the gears, Full length hooker headers, 3inch pipes, and 3inch flowmaster mufflers direct the burnt dino's out back, 4.56 gears sending power to the 275/50R15's on aluminum Mag wheels on the back, Drag shocks up front with Air ride in the back. You would think drag shocks would be terrible but they actually ride Super smooth even though i live way out in the Country with a bumpy ass 1/2 mile drive!
