About “The 401 Experience”

Rare : Early 71 AMX 401 "Z" Code

Shares in a Racing Heritage. In 71' & 72'

The Trans Am /AMX's ,Won the Manufactures Cup &

Championship Title in SCCA Trans Am Road Racing .

71' Season - Won 7 out of the 9 Races . In 72' Season

finished 1st , 2nd and 3rd. in last race of season !

Some of the designers of the 71 AMX Roger Penske,

Mark Donohue , Chuck Mashigan, ,George Follmer

just to name a few. 71' is the Frist Year for the 401engine.

It is a split year for this model,

Only 745 - AMC - 71' - 401 AMX's were produced ,

unknown # of 4 spd made

unknown # of Early 71' 401's made

About “Boosted 89 V6 RS”

this car started life as a base model rs,nothing except power locks,ac and power trunk,it has been converted over to a full 1LE suspension and brake swap,with added stb and wonderbar.also swaped over were 16 inch iroc rims,iroc gauge cluster with 145 mph speedo,iroc tailights and steering wheel

the entire turbo system and some other parts like the stainless turbo headers/custom intake manifold etc were all hand made by me. so far the car is about 2 years in the making,and still a long way off from being done.

the last motor put down 412 hp @ 18 psi,the new motor going in in the next week or so has heads that flow around 40-50 cfm better then the old heads,and a more aggressive turbo cam,not to mention the addition of a much larger turbocharger,and direct port ethanol injection system, looking to put down around 550 hp,and put the car into the low 11's/high 10's

ENGINE : 401 - 0.030 over . Keith Black Custom Performance

Pistons w/ Thermal Conductive Ring, Chrome Moly Rings.

The 401 RODS, have been reconditioned Bushed for full floating

pins,with spiral locks. Mildon Bolts & Nuts installed.

The MAINS, have Mildon Studs & Nuts Installed

CRANKSHAFT: Has been Magged, Crossdrilled, Chamfered,

Nitrided & Polished. The assembly has been completely

Balanced Externally Front to Rear. The DECK has been O-

RINGED ( Stainless Steel). New Main,Rod, & Cam Bearings

installed. Hi-Perf. Camshaft 474 Lift - 288 Dur. New Guides,

Hi-Perf. Valve Job, Comp Cam Springs, 10 degree retainers &

locks. Intake is an AMC Elderbrok Torker II with a 4150 series

Holley.A Centerforce II Clutch assembly gets the Horses too

the factory 4.10's Assembled and installed 4/07 FRESH

Run's Like a Cat with it's Tail on FIRE !
