About “the Datsun”
This is it... my baby.
It has outlasted all my ex-wives and I have had it longer than 2 of my 3 boys (15 years). Since new, its been through at least three engines, two or more transmissions, four paint jobs and a body kit.My 1971 JCR "Cal Z" is running a bored/stroked L24 (straight 6) from a 73(?) 240-Z. The head is a ported '71 aluminum job. It is carbed with triple Dellortos, on a Lynx alum. manifold like the early Porsches and Lotus' ran. I'm using a 3-into-2 header with 2.75" exhaust to a "ricer" muffler. The trans was replaced with a'74 260-Z 4-speed just in time for the snow to fly in fall 2005. The interior sports a roll bar and seats from a Supra. The "whale tail" on the back was an option with the body kit - but does it really add downforce?
The wheels are 70's vintage aluminum slots. The fronts are 14x6 and the rears are 14x12. The fenders can hold 12" wides on all four corners.
Please let me know if you have any modern wheels in this bolt pattern (4x4.25") and at least 10" wide, as these wheels SUCK..
