I saw the car at a car lot next to Autozone. I went and looked at it, and fell in love with what I saw, yes it needed a lot of work, but I had to have this car. I asked the owner how much he wanted it for, he said $3,800, so I asked him if he would make a payment plan, and that he would keep the car until I have paid it off. He said no, so right after I went to the bank to see about getting a loan for the car, that took about 3 days. I was approved for the loan, got the check and took it to the owner, when I got there before I told him I got a loan, he said he would make a payment plan, I was a bit aggravated, but I told him I got a loan. He gladly signed the title over and the car was mine! I was so happy, I took it to my work place and showed every one my new car, every one liked it. I took it home, and my mom dad and sister liked it, but my ex was pissed, but I think that's because my car is better looking than his, and because I didn't tell him or anyone else I was getting the car. But here I am now with one of my dream cars. One day I hope to get a '63 Split Window Corvette. When I brought the car home, it was backfiring, shooting flames out of the carburetor, and flooding out. I figured out that the carb was too big for the motor, so i traded someone for a smaller carb. She runs better, but I am in the process of restoring her. When I am done it will be a restored Motion Lt-Z which is my own creation. I would like to put a 4 speed in the car, but i have to find one. I will put a 350 in the car, and rear end gears will more than likely be bumped up to 3:55's. The interior will be the same just all new. It will have Z28 fenders, Motion hood and Motion stripe.The motor I am looking at getting (possably) will be pulled out of a 57 Bel Air, the motor is originally out of a 72 Chevelle...Whats weird though, I never thought this would be a dream car for me. I had never seen one up until i saw it sitting at the car lot day after day. I almost bought another one, same year but it was black, had a 350, and a manual trans. I went to the bank to get money and the day I was approved fro the loan...It sold. I was so disappointed!
About “Camaro S/C”
After years of searching I finally found a 70-73 Camaro in my price range and it was for sale locally. I've always wanted one of these cars, but figured I would never actually own one. I really like the looks of the split bumper with the round blinker lights next to the head lights (as opposed to the rectangular blinker lights under the bumper).
I bought this car on 4-21-07 for $3,500. I was told the car has been sitting for 4 years and the SBC 400 engine didn't work. So it wasn't perfect, but was a good start for a project. I think the price was a steal! My goal was to have it on the road by the end of summer 2007 - that goal was accomplished!
The thing I liked the best about this car was that the fuel injected and blown 350 engine fit under the stock flat hood. No one knew it was under there. It was funny to pop the hood at a car show or cruise night and then watch people scratching their heads looking at the engine as if saying, "What the hell is all this stuff?" This car would have been a nice little sleeper if the exhaust weren't so loud.
This car has been a domino effect of problems. To get the engine to fit with the original hood I had to install short Moroso solid motor mounts, modify PS pump location, have custom PS lines made, install electric fan, install shorty headers, etc... I even went through two transmissions after getting this engine set up because it's so powerful. I started of with the stock TH350 and blew that up. Then I installed a 700R4 trying to save gas money having overdrive. That transmission only lasted six weeks and then the torque converter went. In the spring of 2009, I installed a 4L80E out of a 1996 Chevy 3500 pickup. For that install I needed to fabricate a new crossmember, have the driveshaft shortened and purchase a stand alone transmission computer to make everything work.
It was one obstacle after another, but it was all worth it when it was running right.
Specs for “Discomaro”
The car currently has a 305 that has been slightly rebuilt. Isky cam, Weiand Intake, Edelbrock carb, and hedders (not sure of the brand). We swapped out the motor with this 305, it is out of roughly a 87 year model camaro it is a 305 H.O. I do plan on changing the cam, I found the perfect cam. Comp Cam Extreme. We got the motor in the car and fired her up, and needless to say, I hate the way it sounds now. Its too quiet and sounds like a stock pick up truck. It has a TH350 transmission out of a 72 motor home, and has the stock rear end w/2:41 gears.

The car has a Isky Cam, Flow master Dual exhaust, not sure what brand the headers are, Weiand intake, Edelbrock 600CFM carb. Dual radio, Hifonics speakers, MA Audio Sub, and i forget what amp I have. A TH350 out of a 72 motor home, corvette rally wheels w/beauty rings that were on a Bel Air. It has a 305 H.O. out of an 87 Camaro.
