Head to Head

About “Hermo”

This Hearse was in service from 1984 until Feb 07 in Kentucky. I bought it from a dealer in Cincinatti and converted it into a Limo

About “SS_sha'Velle”

This is my first full blown restoration attempt. Yes, it was sitting out in a field, 20 miles East of Bend Oregon. I answered an add at Mike's Auto Parts for a 1966 Chevelle, $1,500.00 o.b.o. Spoke to Kenny Clause the owner and it was a California car that he got in his travels. Had been setup as a low rider and the frame got pounded!!!! It had what appears to be the original motor, 2 speed powerglide, a bench seat, with column shift, original diamond tuck interior. It started, ran and drove when I got it. Go ahead, try to find a 66' Chevelle with a motor, tranny and interior that runs and drives.... Good Luck! I immersed myself until I ran out of money, bought all 4 new springs for it and put in a nice set of KYB shocks all the way around. We tore out the motor and trans, cleaned it all up underneath and took off the front clip. Bought a new steel SS hood, emblems, blocked and sanded the whole car. Put together a NASTY 406 small block courtesy of Steve's Precision Machine Shop in Tigard, Oregon. KB hypereutectic pistons, Canfield aluminum heads with 2.080" intake valves, yeah you read it and I typed it right, 2.080" intakes baby!!! Performer RPM Air Gap that I hand polished to chrome, MSD distributor, Crane Gold full needle fulcrum roller rocker arms, forged pushrods of course, streetable Edelbrock cam. Backing it up is a BUILT TH400 with a mild streetable stall convertor, 2,800 rpm.

Currently I am powdercoating the factory brackets and starting to put the engine hardware on it. Pretty much ready for color, then stuffing the new motor and trans in it.

Oh yeah, I kinda lost it on ebay.... (I call it Crack Bay...) Anyhoo, ended up with factory buckets, a factory console and 3 speed shifter to add to the effect.

-Now just waiting for a pile of money to show up so I can finish it!!!
