Head to Head

About “The Lumie”

This the family every day driver. I didn't know what a Z34 was until after I bought it. It was just a very sporty looking car.

About “Ninja turtle”

Only 3,000 sold in ithe US in 1991 and 1992. This one is Number 941 of 1,000 production in 1992. Mitsu campaigned these cars in World Rally Championships from 1989 to 1991. Mechanically identical to Lancer Evolution 1-2-3, it is the "Evo 0" in the series.

Bought with 64,000 miles from a guy with a million-dollar car collection, this limited production turbocharged all-wheel drive car was the least exotic thing in his garage. Driven daily for several years, started autocrossing it in central Ohio SCCA. First in G Stock against the likes of lighter and more nimble Acura Integras (where it was not well classed), then in the heavy metal class E Prepared against Camaros and Mustangs with a couple class wins but always competitive, and more recently in Street Modified. SM is the Spend Money class. Rules are more or less open on drivetrain so long as it is badged same as the car, but interior must be complete and suspension must attach at the original locations. (See Mods for details.) But this class is where a turbo car can shine. Have won or placed a number of times, the car is usually competitive if the driver does his job.
