About “ThunderStratus SXT”

UPDATE! Well during the past Summer I stepped into Car shows and started showing the "ThunderStratus". For my rookie first year, I manage to pick up 10 trophies, most where from the Top 40 to Top 20. I also manage to pull in Best Mopar with a very nice plaque.. The ThunderStratus is unique in my area being the only one of it's kind, with the addition of Stripping her, I also had an awesome cascading Light Kit installed that gave it the Night Rider look. which is installed in front and on both sides and the rear. Also have Red Neon Trunk light to illuminate the KISS trunk liner I had installed.. We also had the the windows Limo tinted, so I get looks from the cops everytime I pass one, LOL!! And after much dedate I decide to stay with the stock rims and mount some GoodYear Eagles "Eagle Responsedge" 205/60R-16 TIRES to give her a stock but aggressive look. I'm not into the awesome Stereo sounds but more into performance, so the summer of 09 we will go with a Cold air intake and and see if we can amp the engine with some electronic tinkering.. More to come....

I was also fortunate to have finish 8th in Texaco's Car of the Decade contest that was held a couple of months ago, In my decade,( 2000-Present) I finish 8th out of 18 voted on, and finish ahead of some awesome rides, Check out the link below for details:

Guess you could say I am going thru my Mid Life Crisis, at age 51. I wanted something sporty but not two expensive, something with some Pep but easy on gas, and after a few weeks of research and living on Autotrader.com I finally found what I was looking for.. This was a one owner car, with less than 40,000 miles on it, extremely clean inside and out.. still had the shipping plastic on the carpet.. The undercarriage is awesomely clean, show room clean..

The 2005 Dodge Stratus Coupe is rated a Consumers Digest "best buy" for styling, fuel economy, purchase price and ownership costs. Standard features include air conditioning, six-speaker AM/FM radio with four-disc CD changer, 16-inch performance tires with aluminum wheels and spoiler.

The new "Special Edition" package adds two-tone leather seats at no charge ($925 value), power sun roof, six-way power driver seat, leather steering wheel/shifter, and four exterior paint options. The MSRP for the Dodge Stratus Coupe Special Edition is $21,995, including $625 for destination.

About “Old Glory”

This was my first "official" car. I purchased it in 2001 for school/work. I bought it because it was the only economy v6 4-door domestic vehicle I liked the look of. I also liked the auto-stick feature a lot and mine came with a factory upgraded speakers/amp.

I found Stratusphere.net and became interested in doing mods. I really enjoyed the fact that in '95-'98 these cars were killers in Super Touring. I became interested in the SCCA and started Solo2 and Rallycross racing. I loved the fact that I was competing with a "grocery getter" but was holding my own. I am finally able afford performance part and have started to mod in way that keep me legal for Solo racing. I started the year strong but due to a car wreck and neck injury I missed 3/4 of the racing season. I have a 2nd Stratus I'm in the process of purchasing which will be gutted and raced in SCCA Club Racing hopefully towards the middle of 2007.

Everything I have done to the car is for a purpose and to stay within the rules of SCCA Solo STS classification. I try to keep cosmetic features to a minimal. My goal is to equally maximize performance with comfort. You will not see the interior gutted or excessive cosmetic mods on the outside.

You won't see racing seats, a big wing, fake scoops, forced induction, or carbon fiber hood/deck lid or other body panels. A little more power wouldn't hurt but I have little to gain from it in what I do. Suspension and handeling is everything.

*UPDATE*
Traded car in for 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab (Hemi).
