Steve from Peninsula VW Club asked a great question about the roster on your club page and spambots.

    Hi David:
    Thanks for the welcome.
Hey..one question. I notice email addresses do not appear on member pages which is great, but on the club pages they do appear. It looks like they are not encrypted and therefore vulnerable to spambots. Yet removing the email address causes the form to error out. I put in a bogus email for the time being, since I've had nasty experiences with those email harvesting spambots on the websites that I run. I ended up double encrypting every email address to protect my users...it works great.
    Please advise.
    Thanks...I love your site.

At Motortopia, we have taken some precautions to this ....

The email addresses on the club pages are written to the page in a way that spambots cannot harvest them.

Here is an example of how an email address is displayed on the club page:

    <script type="text/javascript">document.write(String.(60,97,32,104,114,101,102,61,34,109,97,105,108,116,111,58,99,108,97,115,115,121,99,104,101,118,121,52,56,64,106,117,110,111,46,99,111,109,34,32,62,99,108,97,115,115,121,99,104,101,118,121,52,56,64,106,117,110,111,46,99,111,109,60,47,97,62));</script>
