Hello Everyone! Charlz here! glad to be part of this community!
Did some of you guys heard this stuff:
The House approved a "cash for clunkers" bill that aims to boost new auto sales by allowing consumers to turn in their gas-guzzling cars and trucks for vouchers worth up to $4,500 toward more fuel-efficient vehicles. President Barack Obama has encouraged Congress to approve consumer incentives for new car purchases as part of the government's work to restructure General Motors and Chrysler. The House approved the bill 298-119.
What's your point of view about this issue? hmmm....

Hi Charlz and Welcome to Motortopia!
I am not liking the "Cash For Clunkers" Bill or law as this could have a negative effect on used parts for older vehicles and people turning in hard to find classics & Antiques that could be restored to like new condition.
Yes there are surely some that are to far gone or not really collectible that would not be missed.
But what about people going out buying an old car for a few hundred bucks just to get more money for a new one?
If it's for a new North American car well there would be exceptions but I fear some nice cars might be at risk of the Clunker law.
What does Obama care for old cars? He doesn't! What did he drive before he became President anyway I wonder?
Instead they will be crushed and the metal shipped over to Japan for trade and come back over here as Toyota's,Nissans,Honda's,Kias,Suzuki's and whatever other un-American crap they can send over here like TV's and electronic equipment.
Just what the Country needs,More Imports to put more American folks out of work and all the money goes back to Japan whether they assembled here or not.
I will just end this as I am not a fan of it because of Antiques and Classic cars will be at risk.
Jim
