If anyone knows of a church sponsored car show, please list it. This seems to be a relatively new idea in my area, but it's catching on quickly.

CGBryan mentioned in one of the other forums about a group called teamrfc that takes church to the car shows and races. Check out there website at teamrfc.com as this might be a way to take church sponsored car shows to another level.

I saw where Intimidator posted a photo album in his garage of a church car show. It had some nice cars in it, too. He's not a member of our group, and I don't know where he stands with Christ, but he knows where to go to see some great cars. I wonder if at the church car show he attended they told him where he can go for eternity.

I'm helping coordinate a car show for the Fulton County Community Christian School (FCCCS) in Needmore, Pa, to be held on October 20th.
We're holding it rain or shine, 12:00 thru 4:00 at the Needmore Bible Church. We are about 40 miles from Hagerstown, Md, and about 35 miles from Chambersburg, Pa.
Registration is $10.00 per car, to benefit the Christian School. We have dash plaques for our first 50 cars, plenty of trophies, and a concession stand packed with great food. Also, we are having a monster truck on location, courtesy of Black Stallion Racing. This is our first year doing this, and we hope to make it an annual event, so we'd love a good turnout. The FCCCS has been a blessing to those of us in our little community who are searching for a quality, Christ-based education for our children. Please come out to join us if you can!
For more information, please see the Events section, under FCCCS Car Show. If you have any questions, please just ask, and I'll be happy to help! My email is grey_sky.morning@yahoo.com. Please put "Car Show" in the heading so I don't delete it as spam.

    Thanks!

I attended a church car show last month. I didn't win any trophies (none were presented), and didn't take any pictures as there weren't many classic cars in attendance. They had some stiff competition, as the local Veterans hospital was having a car show at the same time. And it was hard to get to the church because the street it was on was torn up for construction and closed, so you had to come in a back way through a rather lengthy and unmarked detour.
But I would say it was a big success. The reason I say that is because you could see the youth group, which had organized it, was having a good time. They were cooking hamburgers and hotdogs on a grill and delivering them by roller-skating to the people in their cars, ala 1950s drive-in style. They didn't charge for the food as it was donation only. And while there were only about a half dozen old cars there, a lot of people from the church came out and supported the youth group in their plain, ordinary minivans and sedans. I would like to think they came to see my car or maybe one of the other cool cars there, but their focus was obviously on blessing the youth.
I still went to the VA car show, but got there late (way too late to win a trophy or any of the door prizes) because I staid at the church so long, visiting with people. And there was probably close to 100 really nice hotrods and antique cars at the VA show (but I got no pictures there, either, because I had forgotten my camera weepy image ). But I really had a good time at both places and was glad I was able to reap the best of both shows -- lots of good fellowship and food at the first and lots of cool cars at the second. What a blast that evening was! biggrin image

Since my last post on this topic over 3 years ago, I finally found another church car show last weekend. This one was in Lakeville, MN. I won a Top 10 award, which was rather amazing since there were only 7 old cars there. I guess it was too late to change the plaques to read Top 7 Award. They had live music and served lunch. It was a good time. While there I heard about another church holding a car show this weekend, and that one has drawn around 200 cars in past years. But alas, my wife has friends coming from out of town to visit this weekend, and they're not into car shows. weepy image

I went to a church car show recently, July 28, 2012. It seemed the main purpose of the event was simply to bless people, as everything was free; not just registration to the car show, but soda pop in coolers, a big hot lunch and games and stuff. I didn't hear much talk about Jesus, or anything related to God or religion, but the people putting it on sure were very friendly. Photos of this event are in an album attached to this group, you can see them in the photo albums section.
While there I found a bunch of fliers for future car shows in my car. One was from a Lutheran church that would be holding its own car show, and another was from a Catholic church. Would the distribution of these fliers be considered proselytizing?
