Sometimes we just need to be reminded!

A well-known speaker started off his seminar by holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?"

    Hands started going up.

He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you. But first, let me do this.

He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill.

He then asked, "Who still wants it?"

Still the hands were up in the air.

Well, he replied, "What if I do this?"

And, he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe.

He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty.

    "Now, who still wants it?"
Still, the hands went into the air.

My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson.
No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value.

    It was still worth $20.

Many times in our lives we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way.

We feel as though we are worthless.

But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value.

Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you.

The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, But by WHO WE ARE and WHOSE WE ARE.

    You are Special

    The Coat Hanger

A woman was at work when she received a phone call That her small daughter was very sick with a fever. She left her work And stopped by the pharmacy to get some medication.

She got back to her car and found that she had locked Her keys in the car. She didn't know What to do, so she called home and Told the baby sitter what had happened. The baby sitter told her that The fever was getting worse. She said, 'You might find a coat Hanger and Use that to open the door.

The woman looked around and found an old rusty coat Hanger that had been left on the ground, possibly by someone else who at Some time had locked their keys in their car. She looked at the hanger And said, 'I don't know how to use this.'

She bowed her head and asked God to send her help.
Within five minutes a beat up old Motorcycle pulled up, with a dirty, Greasy, bearded man who was wearing an old biker skull rag on his head.

The woman thought, 'This is what you sent to help me?'

But, she was desperate, so she was also very thankful.

The man got off of his cycle and asked if he could Help. She said, 'Yes, my daughter Is very sick. I stopped to get her Some medication and I locked my keys in my car. I must get home to her. Please, can you use this hanger to unlock my car? He said, 'Sure.

He walked over to the car, and in less than a minute The car was opened

She hugged the man and through her tears she said, 'Thank You So Much! You are a very nice man.'

The man replied, 'Lady, I am not a nice man. I just Got out of prison today. I was in prison For car theft and have only Been out for about an hour.' The woman hugged the man again and with sobbing tears Cried out loud,'Oh, Thank you God! You even sent me a Professional!'

Is - GOD GOOD - or what!?

    It's only a quarter.....

Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a
church in Houston , Texas ... Some weeks after he arrived, he had an
occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he
sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a
    quarter too much change.

As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You' d better
give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he
thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about
this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they
will never miss it. Accept it as 'a gift from God' and keep quiet.'

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, then he
handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too
    much change.'

The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in
town? I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to
worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too
much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'

When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the
nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your
    Son for a quarter.'

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a
really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians and
will put us to the test! Always be on guard and remember that you
carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call
    yourself 'Christian'.

Watch your thoughts; they become words. Watch your words; they
become actions. Watch your actions; they become habits. Watch your
habits, they become character. Watch your character; it becomes your
    destiny.

I'm glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder. God bless you.

I hope you are having a wonderful day! If you don't pass this on to
anybody, nothing bad will happen. If you do, something good might.

The Will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not
PROTECT you...Stay FAITHFUL and be GRATEFUL.

    Take my Son

A wealthy man and his son loved to collect rare works of art. They had
everything in their collection, from Picasso to Raphael. They would
    often
sit together and admire the great works of art.

When the Vietnam conflict broke out, the son went to war. He was very
courageous and died in battle while rescuing another soldier. The father
    was
notified and grieved deeply for his only son.

About a month later, just before Christmas, there was a knock at the
    door. A
young man stood at the door with a large package in his hands.

He said, 'Sir, you don't know me, but I am the soldier for whom your son
gave his life. He saved many lives that day, and he was carrying me to
safety when a bullet struck him in the heart and he died instantly. He
    often
talked about you, and your love for art.' The young man held out this
package. 'I know this isn't much. I'm not really a great artist, but I
    think
your son would have wanted you to have this.'

The father opened the package. It was a portrait of his son, painted by
    the
young man. He stared in awe at the way the soldier had captured the
personality of his son in the painting. The father was so drawn to the
    eyes
that his own eyes welled up with tears. He thanked the young man and
    offered
to pay him for the picture. 'Oh, no sir, I could never repay what your
    son
did for me. It's a gift.'

The father hung the portrait over his mantle. Every time visitors came
    to
his home he took them to see the portrait of his son before he showed
    them
any of the other great works he had collected.

The man died a few months later. There was to be a great auction of his
paintings Many influential people gathered, excited over seeing the
    great
paintings and having an opportunity to purchase one for their
    collection.

On the platform sat the painting of the son The auctioneer pounded his
gavel. 'We will start the bidding with this picture of the son. Who will
    bid
    for this picture?'

    There was silence.

Then a voice in the back of the room shouted, 'We want to see the famous
    paintings. Skip this one.'

But the auctioneer persisted. 'Will somebody bid for this painting. Who
    will
    start the bidding? $100, $200?'

Another voice angrily. 'We didn't come to see this painting. We came to
    see
the Van Gogh's, the Rembrandt's. Get on with the real bids!'

But still the auctioneer continued. 'The son! The son! Who'll take the
    son?'

Finally, a voice came from the very back of the room. It was the
    longtime
gardener of the man and his son. 'I'll give $10 for the painting.' Being
    a
poor man, it was all he could afford.

We have $10, who will bid $20?'

Give it to him for $10. Let's see the masters.'

$10 is the bid, won't someone bid $20?'

The crowd was becoming angry. They didn't want the picture of the son.

They wanted the more worthy investments for their collections.

The auctioneer pounded the gavel. 'Going once, twice, SOLD for $10!'

A man sitting on the second row shouted, 'Now let's get on with the
    collection!'

The auctioneer laid down his gavel. 'I'm sorry, the auction is over.'

    What about the paintings?'

I am sorry. When I was called to conduct this auction, I was told of a
secret stipulation in the will. I was not allowed to reveal that
    stipulation
until this time. Only the painting of the son would be auctioned.
    Whoever
bought that painting would inherit the entire estate, including the
    paintings.

The man who took the son gets everything!'

God gave His son 2,000 years ago to die on the cross. Much like the
auctioneer, His message today is: 'The son, the son, who'll take the
    son?'

Because, you see, whoever takes the Son gets everything.

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, WHO SO EVER BELIEVETH, SHALL HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...THAT'S LOVE

This will give you the chills.......
    GOOD chills.

A young man had been to Wednesday Night Bible Study.

The Pastor had shared about listening to God and obeying the Lord's
    voice

The young man couldn't help but wonder, 'Does God still speak to people?'

After service, he went out with some friends for coffee and pie and they discussed the message. Several different ones talked about how God had led them in
    different ways.

It was about ten o'clock when the young man started driving home. Sitting in his car, he just began to pray, 'God...If you still speak to people, speak to me. I will listen. I will do my best to obey.'

As he drove down the main street of his town, he had the strangest thought to stop and buy a gallon of milk.

He shook his head and said out loud, 'God is that you?' He didn't get a reply and started on toward home.

But again, the thought, buy a gallon of milk.

The young man thought about Samuel and how he didn't recognize the voice of God, and how little Samuel ran to Eli.

'Okay, God, in case that is you, I will buy the milk.' It didn't seem like too hard a test of obedience. He could always use the milk. He stopped and purchased the gallon of milk and started off toward home.

As he passed Seventh Street, he again felt the urge, 'Turn Down that street.'

This is crazy he thought, and drove on past the intersection.

Again, he felt that he should turn down Seventh Street .

At the next intersection, he turned back and headed down Seventh.

Half jokingly, he said out loud, 'Okay, God, I will.'

He drove several blocks, when suddenly, he felt like he should stop. He pulled over to the curb and looked around. He was in a semi- commercial area of town. It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst of neighborhoods either.

The businesses were closed and most of the houses looked dark like the people were already in bed.

Again, he sensed something, 'Go and give the milk to the people in the house across the street.' The young man looked at the house. It was dark and it looked like the people were either gone or they were already asleep. He started to open the door and then sat back in the car seat.

'Lord, this is insane. Those people are asleep and if I wake them up, they are going to be mad and I will look stupid.' Again, he felt like he should go and
    give the milk.

Finally, he opened the door, 'Okay God, if this is you, I will go to the door and I will give them the milk. If you want me to look like a crazy person, okay. I want to be obedient. I guess that will count for something, but if they don't answer right away, I am out of here.'

He walked across the street and rang the bell. He could hear some noise inside. A man's voice yelled out, 'Who is it? What do you want?' Then the door opened before the young man could get away.

The man was standing there in his jeans and T-shirt. He looked like he just got out of bed. He had a strange look on his face and he didn't seem too happy to have some stranger standing on his doorstep. 'What is it?'

The young man thrust out the gallon of milk, 'Here, I brought this to you.' The man took the milk and rushed down a hallway.

Then from down the hall came a woman carrying the milk toward the kitchen. The man was following her holding a baby. The baby was crying. The man had tears streaming down his face.

The man began speaking and half crying, 'We were just praying. We had some big bills this month and we ran out of money. We didn't have any milk for our baby. I was just praying and asking God to show me how to get some milk.'

His wife in the kitchen yelled out, 'I ask him to send an Angel with some. Are you an Angel?'

The young man reached into his wallet and pulled out all the money he had on him and put in the man's hand. He turned and walked back toward his car and the tears were streaming down his face.

He knew that God still answers prayers.

    A Lion Chaser's Manifesto

So what lion is God calling you to chase? Here's a lion chaser's manifesto.

Quit living as if the purpose of life is to arrive safely at death. Grab life by the mane. Set God-sized goals. Pursue God-ordained paassions. Go after a dream that is destined to fail without divine intervention. Keep asking questions. Keep making mistakes. Keep seeking God. Stop pointing out problems and become part of the solution. Stop repeating the past and startcreating the future. Stop playing it safe and start taking risks. Expand your horizons. Accumulate experiences. Consider the lilies. Enjoy the journey. Find every excuse you can to celebrate everything you can. Live like today is the first day and last day of your life. Don't let what's wrong with you keep you from worshipping what's right with God. Burn sinful bridges. Blaze a new trail. Criticize by creating. Worry less about what people think and more about what God thinks. Don't try to be who you're not. Be yourself. Laugh at yourself. Quit holding out. Quit holding back Quit running away.

I haven't been putting any devotionals or inspirational messages, whatever you want to call them, in our group's "News" section since my accident because of the difficulty in typing with just my left hand. I'm almost typing normal now, but I'm wondering if anyone missed those devotionals or if anyone was even reading them. I know a lot of people have left Motortopia or just aren't spending much time on this website since it was sold to new owners who have shown no interest in maintaining it. So, I would like to know if there's any interest in me continuing to provide devotionals in the New items section or not?
