Do you share about Jesus at car cruises and car shows? Why or why not?

I'm sorry to say that I have not witnessed nearly as often as I should have. As a fairly new Christian, I find that I'm still worried about how my unsaved friends view me. I want to share with them, but I still want them to see me as their friend, not some weirdo. This especially bothers me with people I've just met, like the ones I meet at the local cruise-ins. Any ideas on how to share the news without driving people away?

I was just reading in my Bible today of the conversation Jesus had with a rich young ruler (Luke 18:18-23) and the rich ruler walked away. If Jesus can't share the news without driving people away, how can we expect to not sometimes have similar results? But Jesus shared anyway because he knew the person's eternal future was at stake. That's the key -- caring enough about people to want them to have that "road map" to heaven even if it costs us "acceptance." I'm still working on that one, too. But hey, could a "weirdo" really be found cruising in the kinds of machines we've got?
One way I've found to help overcome my own fears of rejection is to make up some business cards with a picture of my car on it. On the back is the plan of salvation following a lead sentence that brings the topic of cars to the topic of salvation. If someone shows interest in my car, I hand one to them and say "Here, have a picture of my car." Then I pray that God uses the card to bring them to receive him or encourage them to ask me about Jesus.
Anybody else got any suggestions on how to overcome our insecurities to offer people eternal salvation?

Good advice. One of the things about being a Christian is that we realize that the material world is not all there is and that God is spirit. In this day and age where materialism is so strong, people seem to get intrigued by someone who is spirit-driven. Hey, maybe that is a good bumper sticker for our cars..."spirit powered!" People might ask what that means, and there is your opportunity talk with them. biggrin image

I was wondering, how many people in our group have some expression of their love for the Lord on their vehicle? I have an obvious one with "Heaven Bound" printed across the side of my sedan delivery, but my T-Bird is a little more descrete with simply a "Praise the Lord" license plate holder wrapped around the rear plate.
What do some of you others do?

never be afraid to teach gods word it is the most powerful thing in this world there is nothing that anyone can say or do to take it from you. Once you love ti it can never be taken from you and it becomes easier and easier to share with others.and once you become a christian others will want what you have just tell them its easy to become a christian just start acting like one and soon people will want what you have.
