I'm a Mopar guy at heart so I'd say anything before 1973 with a 340,anything before 72 for the big blocks or anything with a HEMI (Iv'e never been fortunate enough to have owned one with a HEMI),Haveing been around cars all my life on the chevy's I'd say 70 454 chevelle w 4 speed,or the 302 in a camaro,69 buick 455.for pulling power,HEMI,ford 300 six or the 460.I had good luck with the 454 in my chevy rollback after installing 396 heads on it.for oval track racing the chevy 350 and the mopar 360 both gave good service and longevity and feature wins.

I have to admit that my favorite car was my second Roadrunner, 383/4spd. I rebuilt the engine after a friend floated the valves and bent a couple of push rods, it had 113,000 miles on it when this happened. I used 426 valve train, but kept the bottom end stock. That thing was bad to the bone. Both of my Roadrunners were awesome. Would love to have either one back. biggrin image
